I finally managed to find a sport more gay then TKD.Not only that this guy is trying to say he has competed in BB Jiujitsu tourneys and placed.Imagine being able to achieve a 5th dan in the black arts of unarmed combat in only 3 years.Don't believe it......It's true.
Also does he make it sound like he has victories in KOTC,apex, ucw etc because this guy has never had a fight in his life.
I dont see anything wrong with TKD. Its a good Martial Arts for Kids. Its Boxing with your feet, teaches discipline, and kids get to kick. When they get abit older then wrestling, jj and boxing.
by all means tell us where. If you mean a class taught by a 6 month blue, that's one thing. But if you are implying a legit BB is turning out bad BJJ that would be more a case of "watering down".

First of all,...I beleive all arts have something to offer. TKD isn't a great art as far as a complete fighting art or a street defense martial art, but it is a GOOD art for ANYONE to get into. I despise ignorant people who mostly got into martial arts when they saw UFC and decided modfied, watered-down BJJ and throwing sloppy haymakers was the end-all-be-all and traditional martial arts were outdated and useless. That's bullshit. Fighting systems that have been around for thousands of years and still exist have valuable skills period.
Second of all,..
Without TKD I wouldn't have speed in my kicks.
Without TKD I wouldn't have become an ambidextrious fighter.
Without TKD I wouldn't be able to smoothly transist from a jab, cross, Muay Thai leg kick combo to a super high roundhouse kick, back up, wait on the guy, and throw a ridiculous spinning hook kick out of nowhere.
As I said in the beginning, traditional martial arts, no matter what it is, brings something to the table, the trick is studying it, taking it for what it is, and then dissecting it and adding the good and effective elements to your game.
I mean damn, I keep the spinning back kick from TKD as a valuable kick and counter, but ignore the palm thrust.

My biggest problem is guys like this who have no fighting experience go and open up an MMA club. They con people into thinking that they can get them ready for a pro MMA fight and a successfull career.
I have always believed you need training in Wrestleing,BJJ(or judo),Boxing and Muai thai. These are the basis for a good mma fighter. Then you have clowns like this who say they fought in KOTC and other events.Take a look at his site. Then check his name on sherdog or fcfighter. He has never fought.
Also any discipline that you can get a black belt or 5th dan for that matter in under 3 years to me is worthless.Right know there is no standard to be an mma coach but if there was this guy doesn't make it.
No I'm not a K 1 level kickboxer but there are very few that are.My strengths lye in my 15 years of wrestleing and 2 1/2 of submission wrestleing.I have 1 1/2 years in boxing and muai thai and that is what I am concentrateing on.I have actually put it on the line and fought in 2 pro mma fights.Wit 3 more to come this year.
