Fedor\Barnett is a heavyweight dream bout that alot of us have been wanting to see ever since Barnett finally came to Pride.
I have to admit I'm very excited about this match up and I ALWAYS thought that Barnett had a chance of controlling the action on the ground (from top) to get an americana or kimura.

And it also just happens to be the universally ranked #1 HW in the world, the true HW Champion of MMA, defending against a consensus top-5 HW - which in itself should already be enough. But in addition, Fedor and Barnett are also the only two long-term-established top HW's left who haven't lost or declined recently.
The only other potential challenger for Fedor who would even be close to Barnett in terms of significance or worthiness would be the winner of Brock-Mir.
But as of now, Fedor-Barnett has had more build-up and established credentials behind it than any other matchup left in the HW division. It's been a dream fight for a few years now that is finally coming true - while both still appear to be at the peaks of their power.

When Fedor became a free agent after the collapse of Pride, there were 4 new matchups for him against established, perennial top HW's that everyone wanted to see - Barnett from Pride, and Randy, Sylvia, and Arlovski from the UFC. Those matchups were without question a cut above everything else. (Brock and Mir weren't even considered top-10 until their last fight.)
