Alex Pereira vs Wanderlei Silva

Right, because Mirko was so dominant as a pure striker:

Prime Mirko would murk Alex.

Mirko fought when Glory was at its best. Alex fought in Glory when it was way past dead

I think it would be a great fight that AP ends up winning but hey, it’s a “what if” topic. Hard to VEHEMENTLY disagree with any position.

You forgot to add, “but you knew that” for a third time this thread. Do you have a small tint of the downs? You sound like Rainman. I follow your posts, but you posted after me? Ok Ray.

Hahahaha now he’s backtracking, cause I’m not the only one to say it!

The night that I saw Alex get shutout in Glory also saw Mirko compete same card

Alex lost an easy Decision and every Round
Mirko beat a guy who was and still is an Undefeated borderline Top 10 HW Boxer who was supposed to fight Usyk before he failed a drug test.

That is part of the reason why I was so surprised that that guy I watched get dominated just strolled into MMA and in less than 10 fights is the Undisputed MW Champion of the World. 7-1. It doesn’t make the Division or organization or even sport look great when someone can switch careers as a specialist and just take a Title. But maybe we haven’t seen the best of Alex yet either and he is that good. Mirko though was a very high level striker and fought the best.

Be careful before he posts Alex’s record now that will show nothing irrelevant.

Not in kickboxing. Wand has to go for takedowns to save his ass. And you know that

So cro cop knocked wand out cold and you think he can hang with him…

You think “losing” to 300lb Hunt or lay n pray Arona means he’s out of his prime?

Mirko was the first to knock him out and ruined him.

You cut off his debut against Jerome LeBanner, which he won. That’s quite a feat. LeBanner is even scarier than Pereira. Mirko’s first two kickboxing bouts were LeBanner and Hoost. It’s not surprising that he had some losses, given the level of competition.

You did see the evidence that I posted that he was NOT in his prime when they met the 2nd time right? and he WAS in his prime when they met the first time?

You know they fought to a draw first right?

Your evidence is that he lost a lot after he fought Crocop.

Right before that he was the first to ever KO Fujita.

You lose this one.

He definitely had his moments in kickboxing; I was showing that he wasn’t NEARLY as dominant as some people think he was in kickboxing.

You think you lose all fights when you fall out of your prime? Is that your position?

The argument is that CroCop ruined Silva for good. He did and then Henderson put a cherry on top.

Mark Hunt ended his over 4 year unbeaten streak weighing over 100lbs more and losing by only split decision. He avenged the Arona loss immediately after and only lost the first one so they didn’t have to make Wand vs Shogun the next round, but you knew that.

He was juiced bigger than ever when he fought Mirko, I believe he weighed more that fight by like 3lbs, but my point is, never been close to being finished leading up to that. Mirko completely changed the trajectory of Wanderlei’s fighting career the same way Rampage changed Chuck’s. Or was Chuck not in his Prime when he fought Rampage the second time because they already fought once before?

Rampage also added a cherry.
