Aljo would get killed in Pride

Also exploits the rules and always keeps a hand on the ground so he can’t get kneed in the face. I don’t mind if guys do it once or twice, but that’s his entire game. Aljo would have gotten lit up in Pride with soccer kicks to the head for that kind of tactic.

Put me down as not a fan.

Pride is dead.

And if the ruleset allowed him to be kneed and kicked in the face in that position, he wouldn’t do it. If the rules allow him to do it, what’s the problem?

Someone willing to exploit the rules in that fashion does not have the character or courage to fight under a less forgiving ruleset.

He would have gotten destroyed in ONE, because their refs wont let you run and wont let you sit in a position while doing no damage.

He also would have lost a good chunk of his fight purse for being yellow carded.

He would have been forced to actually FIGHT and would have gotten a beatdown from Yan.

Doesn’t matter where he is He got destroyed by Yan in the first fight and lost the second fight as far as I’m concerned. The judges are a bunch of nerds who have no clue what fighting is

It’s a silly concept, he’d employ a different strategy in Pride. You don’t have to like the guy but he’s a world class fighter in any organization.

He had nothing to offer in standup, got the superior position and held Yan there but couldn’t finish or do any damage.

Rogan locked onto Sterling, as he always locks onto one fighter to only talk positively about, and made it sound like he was doing great.

He was getting tagged on the fighter and was running away.

Yan was sprinting towards him to land, that’s the only real fight we got was when Yan was sprinting.

The superior position is worthless if you do no damage. At best he held the superior fighter at bay for a couple rounds with body locks so he didn’t take a beating on the feet.

The only damage he did was giving Tan a squeeze with a body lock.

Announcers talking about how it will make you have to poop.

Yet Yan clearly was superior standing.

He made a couple mistakes and it cost him the points, in a scoring system which allows you to weasel your way into a bs win.

Anyone who has grappled know that figuring fouring a guys midriff is a stalemate. That’s all Aljo was looking for.

And that’s what gave him the decision, which he now is talking shit about as if he actually won “the fight”.

The worst victory in a title fight I’ve ever seen, next to his dq win via acting.

He will be one of those fighters that the fans want to see KOd.
