All people are saying here is Clay the Blanket...

and ragging on him for not being a good fighter, that Diego only should have received the bonus, and all this shit. Why don't you guys try going and fighting guys that Clay fights, and at the intensity that he fights with. The heart that he fights with, and everything he pours into his fights. The dude has never given up, he always comes forward, always pushes the pace, and is relentless. He's not pulling a Kalib and running away, he's coming forward all the time. Diego rocked him early, and he didn't just drop and give up. Diego dropped him with that kick, and he immediately popped back up. I've met Clay, I've rolled with Clay. He is a class act, a funny dude, and a fucking warrior. All of you idiots need to shut the fuck up, for real.

Styles make fights. Clay got rocked early and had to do something to recover and try and score points with the judges.

You do that by taking down your opponent and maintaining top position, which Guida did fairly well, until Diego started with the elbows from guard in Round 2.

Considering MANY here think the fight was a draw, although you could score round 1 30-28 for Diego (giving him the win) it was a HELL of a fight and I just don't get why people hate on Guida.

The fight showed me a lot of things about both guys, because I am opened minded, and I did not give Diego much credit before this fight but the dude has evolved into a VERY dangerous striker now with a ground game to back it up.

Clay always brings it, throws down and goes full throttle the entire fight. I mean, what else do you want from a MMA fighter?

I agree 100% these guys sound like the garbage who boo in the stands

What part of holding onto a guy, not advancing position and not throwing strikes is going full throttle? He's relentless with his takedowns and he used to bring some serious GnP (like when he smashed Thomson) but now he just holds on because he realizes top position is worth enough without risking it by actually doing anything silly like say striking?

^lmao...yea since its really easy to advance positions on Sanchez and get ur arms free to pound him

When you have a guy who's strike are just  as dangerous on the ground as Diego, there's not much of a choice. He tried with the gnp but Diego is too dynamic. Even though he loses every now and then, I think Clay is goingto be around for a long time. There's no one who can push that pace and that makes up for his other faults as a fighter.

Quit hating. Other fights that go to decision are so boring. When was the last time Clay had a boring fight.

And f..k Rogan for shutting him down like that. If his comedy special wasn't starting in 5 minutes he would've let him go on.

BROTHER WISDOM - ^lmao...yea since its really easy to advance positions on Sanchez and get ur arms free to pound him

Ok so I hear you guys. He is doing the best that he can against really tough competition. I understand, but it's upsetting to see Diego dominate a fight yet only eke out a decision.

Diego was trying to finish Guida the entire fight. There was one point when Diego took Guida to the ground and made a clear effort to try to submit him, but Guida ended up on top and surely earned points for it.

Guida has skill and heart for miles, but I would prefer to watch a fighter attempt to finish a fight rather than win a decision. I do, however, understand the concept of "win however you can" and don't blame Guida for doing what he has to do.

I personally think Guida is one of the key factors for some of the most exciting fights in the UFC, I am sure everyone remembers Guida vs Huerta as being an amazing battle, and I mean seriously, if you did not truly enjoy that fight with Sanchez, you are on some heavy stuff. Seriously, it was just Sanchez that made that fight exciting, I like Guida, yes, he has alot of work to do on his all around game, but I love the fact that he has alot of heart, and always wants to push the pace and bring it. That man is a beast, and I hope to see alot more of him in the octogan

I like Guida. He's working from the top and going like a buzzsaw. He's probably not going for an armbar, ok. But he's exciting 99% of the time...

Sanchez won every round of that fight IMO

True.

- Clay Guida

I agree with the TS. I don't understand the hate. The dude gets blasted, recovers and continues to come forward, oh yeah and getting kicked in the head. That kick would have put most fighters down and out.

lol

Diego won that FIGHT!

That being said Guida has had some of the most exciting fights I have seen in the last year.

guy comes to fight and is tough as nails!

completely agree, there are a bunch of noobs and douche bags on here that no nothing about mma

clays a stud like i said b4 its not clays fualt fighters cant figure out how to stop him from laying on them and controlling them.Clay was trying to finish the fight but its hard to strike a guy like diego with his sub skills .Never the less clay kept coming never stopped would ve like to have seen another rnd it was a great fight buy both

RJJH - he might be the new kos of old. remember when kos was "the banket"? i think clay needs to change up his training and striking. maybe go train with faber or something of that nature.

he needs to work on his passing. if he took people down, then passed their guards and put the beating on them from the mount and side mount it would be more exciting and he would probably win more often.

very true. i think he is convincing himself that keeping a good position is better than taking the chance on a fail pass attempt.

he would be a great fight if he did these things we speak. but until then he is just a good fighter.

Also he would score more points even if he failed the pass and his opponent scrambled back to the feet. he could just take him down again. Clay has good wrestling its obviously the strong part of his game. unless he doesnt trust his cardio since taking people down is a lot more tiring than holding them down.

the huerta fight could have possibly messed him up a little mentally with scrambling and things like that.
