Alpha Jiu-Jitsu Academy was founded in 2004 by instructor Alan Whited. The curriculum focuses on self-defense techniques from Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Unlike tournament-oriented schools, the focus here is on the basic, real-world effective techniques, but our students have been very successful in grappling tournaments, most recently taking first and second place in different divisions at the 2005 Middle Tennessee Grappling Tournament.
Alan is an excellent instructor and has a great school and students. On the website it still says he's a Pedro Sauer purple belt, but he recieved his brown belt from Mickey Swafford recently. If CJJA ever closed, I'd drive the hour each way to train at Alpha Jiu Jitsu for sure.

yea, i train there. Its a good school with good instructor. everyone is layed back and wiling to help one another
