B) Start threads of your own

Well they probably earned it, if you don't find Pride to be fights very entertaining then you don't like MMA. It was a golden age. I think older fans would just like to be able to talk about the past without being shot down by people who weren't involved or interested.

I dont agree 100% The best of Pride was truly a golden age of great fights, that said they did throw some dumb ones out there from time to time, and if you ever found out some of those great fights were fixed it would ruin everything we love about the sport. Personally I think the fixed ones tend to be those weird fringe ones the OP was talking about, Pride was like two things in one.
A Place where the best of the best went at it with very little in the way of rules, and then the spectacle side where you'd get sumo wrestlers who have no business being in a ring with a true Mixed Martial artist

I'm only speaking for myself here but I would rather have ten threads from a great poster (like yourself) than ten shitty ones from different members.

All those criticisms were a product of the time and part of the evolution of the sport and to some extent.....and I know it's blasphemous to say this.....also entertaining.
You take the good with the bad, I am not planning on ripping the UFC a new one as the scoring system probably will evolve over the next 10 years and I am not gonna look back pick apart any thing that UFC did wrong and claim it was shit.
The good in Pride far, far, far out weighed the bad. I therefore liked it all because that was MMA at the time.
Lets not forget UFC had Kimbo and Sean Gannon in recent years.
