Anderson/Ed Soares 'Not Satisfied' with Matches?

I understand Anderson wants nothing but super fights and that's understandable but I don't necessarily understand the attitude of denying Den Henderson and calling out Frank Mir? Dan Henderson fights at Light Heavyweight and I see him beating all the opponents Anderson has faced at Light Heavyweight as well. I'm not sure who's decision it was to call out Frank Mir but I just think it's bit of a safe move and not really a 'super' fight, its more of a 'safe' fight that people may categorize as a super fight. Mir has a questionable chin, if going to Heavyweight why not call out Kongo, Brock, or Cain?(Cro Cop would have been a super fight, still may be)

One person I think would give Anderson a great fight is Rampage, while Ed Soares is picking opponents and playing matchmaker he does what a manager does and goes for taking the least risks with the most possible gain (which is smart). All I'm saying is Anderson wants super fights, in my opinion Anderson Vs Rampage is a super fight. Ed Soares wants safe fights.

One last thing, denying Vitor doesn't make since. Even though he has one win in the UFC, his streak coming into the UFC qualifies him as a justifiable opponent. BJ wants super fights, Anderson wants super fights, the fans want super fights, but don't supplement a great fight for a different fight unless it's a legit 'super' fight.

His attitude definitely changed once he was given the Thales Leites fight. I could understand giving Cote a title shot, but Anderson seems to only want big names after the Thales fight. In my opinion that Thales fight made no since at all and I understand if he declines fights that don't make since, but these fights are solid fights that make since that he is declining.

Forrest Griffin and James Irvin were LHW fights, non-title. Also Lutter didn't make weight so non-title there too.

"if going to Heavyweight why not call out Kongo, Brock, or Cain?(Cro Cop would have been a super fight, still may be)"

He wouldn't call out Brock because of the completely ridiculous size difference, and also he is not one who immediately calls out the champ in divisions he hasn't worked his way up in. He wouldn't call out Kongo or Cain because no one cares about them and those would be far from "superfights". Mir is a very recognizable guy and former champ.

I think alot of you are missing the connection. Mir gets called out because of the Nog connection. Mir talks down Nog and refuses rematch. Anderson uses his star power to try and get a match and dispense justice for a friend. That is my take on it.

Yeah, but what do you know about MMA?

Kidding!

This was my impression as well.

He called out Mir because thats the best stylistic match up for him at the HW division. You notice he didn't say Herring? Cup Cheick? Cro Cop? Pat Barry? But went straight for Mir because he's the best match up for him of the high profile fighters. It's not about the challenge for him, it's about keeping that streak going.

Yea, that's what I mean by taking the 'safe' fights. If you claim to want super fights, there aren't many super fights that are 'safe' matchups.
