Dida use to be pretty good, just didn't have a ground game. He had all those opponents hurt in those loses and did pretty good in K-1 and dropped Masadto a few times

I can see how someone might react like that seeing his friend receiving GNP. Obviously, latching ok a choke hold or trying go tie up his arm(s) would have been better.
But, as was noted above, his behavior AFTER it went down really speaks to this guy's mentality.... he exhibited nothing but glee and "did you see what I did?!?" approval-seeking type behavior (holding up Sonnen's shirt). That's a jack-ass... the guy that was easily talked into doing the stupid shit by others as a kid.
