MMA Architect - I can see how someone might react like that seeing his friend receiving GNP. Obviously, latching ok a choke hold or trying go tie up his arm(s) would have been better.
But, as was noted above, his behavior AFTER it went down really speaks to this guy's mentality.... he exhibited nothing but glee and "did you see what I did?!?" approval-seeking type behavior (holding up Sonnen's shirt). That's a jack-ass... the guy that was easily talked into doing the stupid shit by others as a kid.

I think MMA nerds in the bubble forget how obscure most JMMA fighters and the JMMA scene is to a lot of westerners. I mean it has been dying a slow death since Pride fizzed
Also, besides fighting Uno in, and here's the key part, 2007 when he was well past relevance, and besides fighting against Kikuno around the same time, Dida has no wins I recognize... Unless you're going to start telling me who the hell Leandro Souza is. I'd never disrespect Dida in a vacuum, but he deserves being shit on here for that bullshit.
I'm still semi-convinced the whole thing is staged, but Dida looked like he was actually trying to deck Chael with rabbit-pynches lol Even worse he defended being the extra faggot in a confrontation and sucker punching. One thing if he just left it at, "Wandy is my friend and I had to do something," but to try and take the ethical high ground is a delusional and punk bitch move by an otherwise legendary trainer
