First off, I want to thank the hundreds of members who have beta tested the new Android application and provided valuable feedback as we have progressed. We are almost there. 

Just now we released the beta version 3.0.7 which is the release candidate.

For those of you already enrolled in the beta program, you should receive an update notification. If you have not yet joined beta testing, you can do so by clicking the beta program link.

Just to recap what we have done for the new Android App:

-Rebuilt app from ground up with a modern framework

-Application is 100% ad free for pro level members (blue, silver, green, etc)

-App features single banner ad for non-pro level members

-App allows uploading images & GIFs when replying to threads and also when creating new threads.

-We added a confirmation popup for ignoring and down voting.

You can upload a pic from your device. And yes, we also have the ability to post with embed codes, such as YouTube.

Oh and the refresh. Works great on my apple product but my android tablet takes forever to see updates to a thread 

I haven't noticed any of the thread refresh problems the old app was having. 

So far this app blows the iOS version away.

Things I have noticed so far:

- Uploading images from camera roll is seamless 

- Media link posting very straight forward, not yet noticed any issues

- Refresh rate is excellent. No issues where latest comment won't show etc.

- Layout of the app is easy to use and way more aesthetically pleasing 

- Would be good to have an option for push notifications for thread replies

- Would be good to have confirmation message before vote ups as I have upvoted quite a few people from scrolling

Overall fantastic job done by top men, the new app is the tits.

I agree. I recently switched to Android from iPhone, and this beta app is top notch. Great work!

Is the ad free stuff for blue members who don't have the app? Because I noticed I get the down vote confirmation message. Do I get the ad free thing too then?

The app and mobile site share the webview for threads, so that is likely why you get the confirmation. But the ad free experience doesn't extend to mobile site, it is for the app right now.

Chris - did you mention in a previous android thread that those of us who paid for the original app would get a blue upgrade?  

I thought I saw it but when I looked back I couldn't find it. Honestly don't recall.

yeah right now you can't upload an image when quoting. we gotta build that out and hope to include it in the future, but we gotta get this sucker out the door.

I have been savagely holding on to my ancient app because I’d never heard anything good about any of the old updates that happened long ago.

I’ve been afraid to try the beta (bad mod, bad bad mad) because I just didn’t want to have to say it sucked.
