This is an MMASucka exclusive with Andy Main. Andy writes his reasons for joining GSP at Tristar and has some interesting things to say about his TUF coach, Josh Koscheck. Here is Andy Main’s explanation in his own words. Thanks Andy!
The story behind the “turncoat” picture just comes down to making decisions for myself as a fighter and a person.
As far as Josh as a coach, I think it’s pretty obvious that he wouldn’t be at the front of any line for coach of the year awards. The problem isn’t that Kos is not good by any means. The problem was that Kos made everything on the show about himself whether he tried to or not. Every fight on the show was Kos vs GSP in his eyes and not Aaron vs Johnson or Main vs Watson. This attitude didn’t allow for him to focus on really bettering his fighters.

Sorry, didn't listen to any radio. We got an exclusive letter written to us from Andy. So that is how it is exclusive. But thanks for letting us know. Andy is a great guy and I think he made the right move going up to train with GSP. TUF will be over in a few weeks and then the new season will start and nobody will care what team you were on, while Andy will have years and years of solid training with GSP and his crew. Plus, Montreal is much closer to Jersey than AKA is.

Again, totally sorry if I missed your radio show. We knew about Andy moving over to Tristar a while back. It was on his FB for a while. In fact our good friends at MMACanada.net also reported on it. I didn't see or read any full explanation from Andy. So he sent us one. So to US it was an exclusive. You had a radio interview...awesome. I didn't read any transcript or hear your show. No reason to be bent out of shape about it. You could of just been cool and posted your link as a response. Instead you feel it was necessary to be combative. Andy Main is probably the coolest cat on the show, he just happened to get picked by the wrong team and got a horrible matchup against Watson. IMO, Main vs Wilkinson should've been the wildcard.
I like Andy's reasoning for switching to Team GSP, he did it very respectfully and with honor. Props to him for know what's best!!!
