Andy Wang - WT hell?

How can anybody fight such a stupid fight?

BJ Penn should have kicked his ass again after that fight.

Andy was not a hero..and there was no reason for him to cry.

If he took the guy down he pretty much won the fight.

JUst silly.

maybe you should check the TUF5 forums and see the answer yourself.

I agree, he did fight a stupid fight.

And he prob. did deserve a little butt whupping from his coach.

It was funny watching BJ laughing at him after the fight!

"He was like WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

lol,

what was the reason posted?

Not cool, guardbreaker(sp). Tone it down a bit.

No problem Racer X.

It pisses me off when these new kkm's ditch a fighter yet nothing seems to be done about it on this board. I call this kkm a "lil pr%^*" and I get asked to tone it down?

"Thanks for all the feedback and it means a lot to me to hear from you all, the positive and negative.

As for the fight, this is what I can tell you:

BJ made a great gameplan, and along with the other coaches and teammates, worked with me to get it down. Obviously, I did a horrible job of execution and have no excuse. When BJ asked us to raise our hands to be on his team, he asked that we give 100%; I did not even give him a fraction of that and he had every right to be upset and frustrated with me.

The fight itself. I went in there with the gameplan pretty clear in my head and felt great about the match-up because Brandon and me had grappled together the first couple of days and I figured that was where my best chances were to win the fight, on the ground. As the old adage goes, "Everyone has a gameplan until they get hit", it definitely applied to me. The first couple of moments of the fight I felt cool and calm, but as soon as he hit me with his straight, everything changed and I became very emotional from that point on.

Without a doubt, the best fighters in the world are also masters of their emotions and just proves that fighting goes beyond techniques. Brandon is a very good fighter with a very bright future in the UFC and against a guy like that, any lapse mentally or physically will be bad, bad news. I'm happy to have fought him and he deserved to win that fight...he was the better man that day.

The crying? Yeah, WTF was that? As soon as the bell rang to end the fight, I thought to myself how much I had put into trainig and competing and to fight like a knucklehead was just a disappointment to myself and the emotion overflowed. I'm not ashamed of crying; I'm ashamed, as BJ said, to have cried over that. I did not do one dang thing he told me to, so what was I crying about? Who knows man, who knows.

I'm an emotional fighter and always will be, but I have to learn the difference between being emotional and being a professional. A lot of people are commenting about what a real warrior would have fought like; a real one would have used his heart and his head together, and that's clearly something that I need to work on.

Thanks again for the comments and thanks for supporting the show; it's always dangerous to put your hopes and dreams out there for everyone to see and criticize, but I will always train and compete as hard as I can, I also hope to add intelligence and character to that equation in the near future."

-Andy Wang

How the hell did he get picked to be on the show. It amazes me how some of these guys get picked for the big show. He sucks!!!

I don't have an issue with fighters crying after a hard loss after they train so hard. This guy:

Didn't even try

Sucked at fighting

To top it off... most guys would just tear and stuff but he was crying making all sorts of bitch noises. Sounded like a 5 year old crying. Somebody give him some water and wash his face.

You get no respect from me son! You disrespected your coaches and your team. You wasted a slot on the show that could have been filled with somebody with heart. Please give up fighting and also the martial arts. You are a poor example of a fighter, martial artist, and as a man.

He had a nice and classy post afterwards.

It still doesnt change the fact that his coach was yelling the exact same thing for the entire duration of the match, and he failed to listen.

Gabe already told BJ before the fight that he wouldnt listen.

He should begin to listen to his coaches or look for another profession.

Yeah he did respond in a classy way.

He is a nice guy that is what PO'd me. I wish he would have won and I he probably could have easily if he would have executed a takedown.

If this is your life and this is your main focus.....how can middle school emotions get in the way?

Andy is a good guy. I doubt he cares about noobs and their asshole statements. He'll be back I hope.

To be honest, all the fighters in the house seem cool. A few seemed like assholes at the beginning, but now that I see more of them they all seem to be cool.

surfin joe - good perspective on things, the house and situation is more difficult than you could imagine. Anybody that lasts a week in that house is an accomplishment in my book.

mmacburt - the same way chris webber can call a non-existent timeout in the Final Four; you get caught up in the emotion and moment...you start thinking about things that are not necessarily true. I thought the fight was going to be 10-8 if I did not knock him down or hurt him bad. It's hard to explain, but if you have ever competed in a serious situation, you'll know what I mean when I say everything feels different and that's why experience is always crucial.

coolhandluke - great movie! i'm sorry you did not like the fight, hopefully I can convince you otherwise someday with my future fights. I fought as hard as I could, just not as smart as I could. Stop fighting? No way, man, this is just the beginning for me!

kying - my biggest regret after the fight was I knew BJ and me would not be so hot. I looked up to him and admried his career from the time I started training in Hawaii and I was hoping to be the one to get the momentum back. He had all the reason to feel let-down...I can only say he's a good coach and I knew what he wanted me to do, and it didnt happen.

catchy, man, don't even compare the two, BJ, and Andy. It's light and day, man. BJ's head is always in the game when he fights.

"It pisses me off when these new kkm's ditch a fighter yet nothing seems to be done about it on this board. I call this kkm a "lil pr%^*" and I get asked to tone it down?"

I PROMISE that you are not being singled out in any way. I do the mod thing where I see it is needed, but I don't spend my life here, and don't see everything.

Seriously, what does calling him anything achieve except getting a post deleted? Instead, just explain to him why his post is so wrong. Do it right and it's better than insulting him.;)

"But to be totally fair, BJ has at times lost focus in his own fights and done things that caused him to loose when he had the ability to win."

To be totally fair, BJ caught a lot of shit for that also.

Cool response Andy. Sorry but I was so pissed at 1st.

Listen to your coaches and you will have a career. You and one of the best coaches in the world.

mmacburt - no problem buddy, you only got pissed because you knew I could do better, so that's a good thing in a way...at least you all had expectations of me, and I'm going to get better to live up to them soon.

coolhand - ummm, I think every athlete at any level of sports has lost their heads now and then. Mine was particularly bad because I lost it for the whole fight, so I gotta learn to come back faster from mental lapses.

stone - as mentioned above, every athlete loses their cool or composure once in a while; the year Peyton Manning won the MVP he went out and threw 4 interceptions against the NE Patriots and that ended their season, so nobody is invulnerable to it. BJ definitely recovers quickly from his mistakes, and I have to do that as well.
