Mauro is horrible to listen to. Quadros was boring as hell. It is time for Pride to get a real professional lead announcer. They have never had one yet.
I have some friends working for Pride. I'll let them know to pass the word to Mr Sakakibara (Met him once a long time ago, but didn't talk with him). Something should be done indeed. Pride is a good promotion. Would be a pity if the English world doesn't take to it cause of a sour grape.

I was just waiting for Mauro to say "I can't believe you morons wasted $35 for this boring-ass shit! You got screwed!"
He pretty much bashed every fight and kept saying that "the fans" want to see stand-up battles. Maybe he should announce for K-1, since he apparently thinks grappling is "ghey".
That said, the announcing didn't "ruin" Pride for me, but it didn't add much, though I did have some fun ripping on the announcing with my friends.
I must say it was shitty. I thought Bas would speak for himself, but it did seem like he was being tricked over to the dark side all night.
I've never had any problems with Mauro's announcing utill this show. I thought that Nakamura/Randleman fight was ungodly boring, but Mauro never mentioned this fact. Then when Arona and Lister have a fluid groundfight with each going for multiple submissions and sweeps, he doesn't shut up about how boring the fight is. WTF? I almost muted the TV during that fight. He need's to go or take some lessons from Quadros.
It seems to me that pride has been really tryin hard to push Randleman, remeber all the prefight intriews and video packages leading up to his fight with Fedor? Also Baroni's comment of calling the Korean fighter Dong Sik, Pork Fried Rice probably won't go over with the Japanese brass of Pride to well.

I think I'de rather try watching with the Japanese commentary next time. I'm assuming that there's no way to order it with the Japanese audio on American PPV though.
Is there a customer service link to email pride about the american broadcast? Maybe they'd listen if they knew we were complaining.
Bring back Quadros.
Pride has always had shitty commentary, always. the bad fights ruined it, but the commentary wasn't helping

I hate it when they talk about how cool Fedor's music and intro are, then they keep yapping so you cant even here the music or get the feel for the intro.
they may suck, but you dont' have to listen. ask yourself why you ordered the ppv. watch the damn fights. bring over an obnoxious friend, you'll surely hear his commentary over that of bas and the canadian guy. always looking for something to bitch about, negative ass people.

It was really annoying. I mean, yeah, overall it was a weird and somewhat disapointing night. But even when there was some good action, like some excellent counter-grappling, that idiot Mauro kept on harping about how they need to "fight" and "we need some action." I'm thinking "Shut up idiot, at least for a moment because I'm actually enjoying this part."

Just plain brutal. Instead of talking shit about Igor why not give credit to Yuki Kondo for being really tough with a ton of heart. That would be like getting dissing St Pierre for not finishing Mayhem.
