Mind explaining why Jim Miller is ranked over Josh Thompson, Sean Sherk and Eddie Alvarez?

Forrest Griffin and Ryan Bader ranked over Dan Henderson?

Shane Carwin ranked top 5 HW after his last performance? Also ranked over Overeem.?

Great rankings other than those imo.

Jim Miller is ranked over:

Josh Thompson because in the past 2 years Josh Thompson has lost his belt to Melendez, struggled with Pat Healy, finally finishing him with 33 seconds left in the fight, and had a very close war with who is now 1-3-0-1 in his past 5 fights.

Sean Sherk because he has fought 4 times in over 3 years, losing his title while being brutally outclassed by BJ Penn, squeaking by Tyson Griffin, losing to Frankie Edgar and then getting a gift decision over Evan Dunham.

Eddie Alvarez because his first three opponents since the loss to Aoki had a combined record of 56-34, not to mention Greg Loughran rocked him pretty good, he then went on to be held in a very strange position for nearly an entire round by Kikuno, before choking him out (which WAS a nice win), and then onto putting UFC washout Josh Neer to sleep, who had went 3-2 in his past 5 heading into the bout, including 2 wins over total cans (12-10, 5-4 records.) Eddie has also only fought once in an entire year, as opposed to Jim Miller who has fought 4 times in that timespan.

Jim Miller has went a stunning 7-1 in the UFC, only losing to Gray Maynard and Frankie Edgar (two top 5'ers) via decision in his entire career. At 18-2 overall, he hasn't faced an amazing list of opponents BUT he hasn't fought any cans at all, his only weak opponents were Josh Neer and 12-1 at the time Steve Lopez, perhaps Duane Ludwig if you want to be picky. And he has clearly beat all 7 of his UFC opponents.

Forrest Griffin and Ryan Bader are ranked over:

Dan Henderson, who has went 3-3 in the past 3+ years, losing both of his title shots cleanly, and going on to beating Rousimar Palhares (nice win), struggling deeply with Rich Franklin who was fighting at 205 for only the second time in years, and KO'ing an extremely overrated Michael Bisping, after circling around eachother for 7+ minutes. He then went on to get utterly outclassed by Jake Shields.

Forrest Griffin has also fought 6 times in the same timespan as Dan Henderson, but in that timespan he put on a striking clinic against an okay opponent in Hector Ramirez, before choking out the number 1 LHW in the world, Shogun Rua and then going on to take a decision over a true monster in Rampage Jackson who had beaten Hendo recently, and claiming the strap. He then went on to beat down 18-1 Rashad for 2+ rounds before getting caught and KO'd. Afterwards, he got destroyed by Anderson Silva, worse than Hendo did BUT the fact is that they were both finished by him and Forrest fought him at 205, keeping more relevant with the class. He then went on to avenge his loss to Tito Ortiz. Just look at the list of opponents in their past 5 fights respectively. Forrest has fought Shogun, Rampage, Rashad, Anderson and Tito, while Hendo has fought Anderson, Palhares, Franklin, Bisping and Shields. Tell me who fought the better group? They both went 3-2.

Ryan Bader has went a flashy 5-0 in the UFC after winning the Ultimate Fighter show, recently KO'ing Jardine before having a close war but a clean win against Lil Nog, who has finished Hendo. These are current rankings, keep in mind that if this were an all time list, Bader wouldn't be anywhere near Hendo. It's all about the current, Bader is running through guys and being prepped for a title shot, about to face the scariest prospect at LHW period in Jon Jones, while Henderson is coming off a dominating loss and is about to fight Babalu. I CAN understand the heat for having Bader over Hendo though, I am just basing it on current activities guys.

Great analysis on why the fighters are ranked below Miller, but you left out that Miller struggled with Matt Wiman at times and also won a gift decision over Mark Bocek. There is no way that Miller deserves to be ranked over Eddie Alvarez. Miller's biggest career win is over Gleison Tibau. He's a stud, but needs to prove himself against top 10 competition first.

Shane Carwin in the top 5 after his last fight IS debatable, I won't lie. I see it like this:

Shane went 4-0 in the UFC, KO'ing Gonzaga and Mir back to back in one round before fighting Lesnar, who he utterly destroyed in the first round before gassing out and looking very bad in the second, on route to a loss via choke. The fact is, he is the first and only to really wreck Lesnar with anything, Mir beat him the first time around but that was after a full minute and a half of being brutalized. Carwin came in and put the heat on Lesnar REAL good and it COULD have been stopped a few times.

How can you even ask why he is ranked above Alistair?! Alistair has beaten Gary Goodridge, Tony Sylvester, James Thompson, Kazuyuki Fujita and Brett Rogers in his past 5 fights. NONE of those are relevant or strong wins at ALL. In his past 5 before that, he got KO'd by Kharitonov, beat down Paul Buentello, KO'd a can in Japan, submitted Mark Hunt (0-6 in his past 6 fights), and smashed Cro Cop's balls. If you like big names, then Alistair has beaten some legends of the sport in Goodridge, Hunt, Buentello, and Cro Cop. But in terms of relevancy, seriously, put all 8 of his last 10 wins together. I'm not even sure that he deserves to be in the top 10. He IS destroying these guys, but who in the top 10 couldn't beat all of them? Don't base his K-1 performances into this either, and if you do, remember that he was beaten by the Flying Man and KO'd by Badr Hari. Alistair IS good, but he isn't proving that he can be that good against quality guys. PLUS, Alistair isn't even going to fight in MMA for a good while, he is with K-1 until the end of the year atleast. Not to mention he has only fought twice in 2 years in MMA.

I'm shocked you didn't mention Werdum being below Carwin if you are going to mention Alistair. Alistair is smashing way out of prime guys and cans, Werdum just tapped out 30-1 Fedor, the greatest Heavyweight of all time in under 2 minutes, not to mention smashing Vera and Gonzaga in the UFC.

He did struggle at times with Wiman, but Wiman is no slouch at all. He is 6-3 in the UFC and was on a 4 fight UFC win streak before Miller defeated him. The Bocek fight WAS close but I don't think it was a gift decision, Bocek is also no slouch, he was coming off a 3 fight UFC win streak, all chokes.

Also, who is Eddies biggest win over? Kawajiri, who is solid but just got merked by Aoki? Or Hansen, who just snapped a 3 fight losing streak against 26-23-1 Hideo Tokoro?

Neither of them have faced the strongest list of opponents, but Eddie has just fought too many nobodies recently to be ranked ahead of Jim Miller.

It's not a terrible debate though, Alvarez IS good as fuck. I just think in terms of quality of opponents recently, Miller edges him out.
