This is what I tell all my new students to help them remember the 3 components of a good submission.
Isolate
Control
Execution.
Use this to remind yourself not only what you need to submit your opponent but what they need to submit you. If you isolate a limb for them then you have given them one element of the submission and they need only find a way to control that Isolated limb and then figure out how to execute a submission from there.
