Izzy IS hard to get down on the mat and keep down. It’s critical that Dricus does that to wear Izzy down and secure a win. It’ll go all the way, Dricus by decision.
I would like to think that a high level striker like Izzy would outclass him on the feet, but DDP’s odd style and strength seem to be working out for him so I honestly wouldn’t be too surprised at this point.

You mean reach advantage? He should still have that. Don’t think he’s that big a MW in terms of weight. Don’t think he’s bigger than Strickland, Costa, Romero, Cannonier, the Italian guy…def not bigger than Alex.

DDP is more aggressive than Strickland though and Izzy excels on counters.

Yes, wrestling is the key.
Izzy by KO here. DDP is a pressure wrestler but he’s not exactly skilled any other way. I think he comes out looking worse than the Strickland fight if it goes the distance. Izzy isn’t a grappler but he has shown great ability to get up after a takedown and he is strong. DDP better brush up on his set ups or he’s getting KO’d. I’m calling a 3rd round KO after Izzy weathers the storm. It may come sooner but it won’t happen until DDP gasses a bit and is ripe for the counter.

Unfortunately yeah, I see Izzy having problems. Dricus has decent grappling and Izzy won’t have overwhelming advantages.
izzy is still game he’s just an unknown quantity right now. if he can get himself together mentally and he’s still there physically he could absolutely win. and dominate. i’m just not sure we ever see that guy again.

Izzy seems to bounce back from losses better than most. This is no cake walk for Dricus. Not even close.

Yeah. DDP is aggressive like Strickland but doesn’t have the fundamental defense or offensive power. He will leave himself open.
I like DDP though and I think this will be a great fight.
I agree with this. Izzy coming off a loss is not a guy you wanna face.

On paper, DDP seems to be the kind of fighter that Izzy has excelled against in his run to the top of the MW division.
Unless DDP can take him down with-out too much trouble, I think he’s getting lit up on the feet.

Izzy is now 35 though, what’s that stat again?
Dricus looked terrible in his win against Strickland. Izzy should be able to beat him pretty easily if he has his head straight.
