Anyone here watch M-1?

I've been youtubing some of their champs, and there are some decent prospects over there. Do you guys have any opinions? Any standout fights I should keep an eye on?

I try to stay away from M1 as much as possible, but there is one guy I am kind of impressed with. His name is Guram Gugenshivili. He's a wrestler from Georgia, with a very aggressive submission game along with brutal Ground and Pound. With that said, he's striking is virtually non-existant and he's also fighting much lesser competition. It's pretty obvious that he stands no chance up against a Cain Velasquez, but he is a pretty decent prospect.

I'll watch any mma, and m1 meets fits the bill so I watch it. I'm a huge Vinny fan so I get especially excited when he's on a card. Phone Post

Well, obviously I'm not trying to compare these guys to Cain or Jones or anything.

But I agree, Guram looks good. He is almost 100% on takedowns too, as far as I've seen.

Another guy to check out is Magomed Shikhshabekov

It looks like there is a big gap between the guys at the top of the division, the guys underneath them. Guys like Shikhshabekov and Guram look great, but they are just crushing complete cans. I want to see them crossing over more, and maybe apprearing on some Strikeforce challengers cards, or a Pro-Elite card or something.

Agreed.

And of course, where Fedor goes, I will follow. Phone Post

I do watch most of the cards, and I'm even in some of them sometimes. :)

M-1 has a few great prospects, Magomed Shikshabekov is one of their best

Who was the guy that hit the spinning backfist KO? Thing of beauty! Phone Post

Vinny Magalhães -  I do watch most of the cards, and I'm even in some of them sometimes. :)

With Eddie Bravo in your corner yelling out goofie stuff

"Good Vinnie...now transition to a flaming poodle via a "puff puff pass" and finsh with the triple decker pecker wrecker!"

NarlyPersianDude - no matter what some people on here who are incredibly anti non ufc mma say, m1 has real good talent and might become a force in mma.

in terms of top level talent, guram is up there, as is magomed sultankhamedov or however you spell his last name. in terms of the american based talent, vinny magalhaes is cleaning house in the light heavyweight division, and jose figueroa is a very good lightweight as well. also enjoy kenny garner, byron byrd and pat bennett.

Bennett vs Garner on the last show was embarrassing.

i just call him the white wolf, because i'm a lazy american.

but yes, the m-1 shows are usually highly entertaining.

 m1 is solid

sforce challengers card tnite on showtime too u should tune in

We might not get to see big names fighting for M-1, but most of the m-1 cards are way more entertaining than some cards full of big names....

I understand that people like good match ups involving big names, but not always that will translate into a good entertaining fights...

I'm a fan, and I will always watch any M-1 card...

Guram or Shamil would be good fights for Fedor
