(MONTREAL, QC) - APEX Championship Fighting: GENESIS is scheduled for September 5th, 2004 at the Pierre Charbonneau Center in Montreal. GENESIS will be headlined by UFC Veteran and local Montrealer IVAN MENJIVAR in a battle against Wisconsin native RYAN ACKERMAN. Also featured on the card is DENNIS “SUPERMAN” HALLMAN, who will be facing off against Team Miletich member TONY “THE FREAK” FRYKLUND.

France native and one of the most popular fighters to fight in Montreal, will be returning to Quebec to face Team Cesar Gracie member, Tim “The Wrecking Machine” McKenzie.
Antony “The Wild Thing” Rea has fought across the globe representing his native France and has always wanted to make his return to Quebec where the fans supported him the loudest!

In a battle that is expected to be one of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu displays in MMA; Eddie Bravo student and UFC veteran Gerald Strebendt will be facing KOTC and ROTR veteran Santino Defranco from Arizona.
Strebendt is known as one of the most exciting practitioners of BJJ in MMA and is non-stop action in every bout. In a city known for its action, Strebendt will feel right at home in Montreal.
After fighting primarily in his native Arizona, Santino Defranco makes his Canadian debut in the APEX ring. Known as a fighter who wants the big fight, Defranco is facing his toughest challenge to date; a UFC veteran with world class skills.
3-Time UFC Veteran Steve Berger comes to Montreal with one goal in mind; return to the top of the welterweight class.
Facing off with Berger is the Keith “The Polish Connection” Wisniewski. Wisniewski has won eight of his last nine bouts and has not lost in over two years. Keith is also considered as one of the top welterweights who have never competed in the UFC or in Japan.
Berger is known for his all out style and another fighter who gives 110% in every fight. A never say die attitude, Berger continues to be one of the favorites of fans and professional fighters.

In a fight that fans across the province of Quebec have demanded, APEX has delivered Stéphan “Rudeboy” Potvin back to the ring to face off against Nestor Fu-Thai member Fritz “The Animal” Paul.
Potvin is a cagey veteran who has already beaten two fighters who are scheduled to appear in August’s UFC in Las Vegas; Joe Doerksen and Ronald Jhun. An Abu-Dhabi veteran, Potvin is considered a tough opponent for anyone in the middleweight class.
Paul is an up and coming fighter out of Montreal, who brings his undefeated record to the ring against his toughest challenge to date. The time has come for Paul to prove to fans across the country that he is truly one of the top middleweights!
