ATTENTION MR. RESNICK..=)

I know you've been a very busy man and all with college, scoping out the hotties, watching girls with the low cut jeans, tight Roxy blouses, freshly implanted boobs and trying to get some studying done and all..but would you be so kind as to drop me an e mail?...i've had some issues of a personal nature and wish to procure your always so intelligent advice..

PS..how's my little Jewish niece/nephew coming along?

"Dude you sound seriously weird"

You sound surprised only because you do not know me...=)

"you know, technically, his kid isn't Jewish though because the mother isn't...or is she? Josh, you got two on the way? ;o) "

LOL, I thought the same thing. Maybe she converted, though.

"you know, technically, his kid isn't Jewish though because the mother isn't...or is she?"

True. However Josh will teach him the way. He will be circumsized and learn the benefits of kosher and selling & buying wholesale.....=)

yea.. TECHNICALLY... its in the bloodlines of the mother.. thats an orthodox rule that was created so there would be jews still in the world should the women be mass raped.

i think its a tad bit behind the times, as does the reformed synagogues. there is a fast, growing number of mixed-race and adopted children within the Jewish faith today.

i dont see being Jewish as a racial identifier, i see it as a religous belief. growing up as the only jewish kid with blue eyes and light hair in your class will do that to ya.

id never ask my wife to convert. shed do it if i asked her, but i wont ask. personally, i think converting to become a Jew is the hardest thing to do. it sure is a lot harder than going to church and "finding jesus"... it takes months of studying the Jewish laws and then she'd have to have a bris and bat'mitzvah..

oh.. and fuck being kosher. i love baby back ribs and a good pork chop... as did my father and his father before him.

"i love baby back ribs and a good pork chop... as did my father and his father before him."

*note to self: prepare traditional roast pork PuertoRican feast as planned and cancel Rabbi*

Not sure why I found *note to self: prepare traditional roast pork PuertoRican feast as planned and cancel Rabbi* so funny.

because you visualized Josh sitting in Puerto Rico with me and my family while his rabbi blessed a plate of rice, beans and chicken???..=)

mmm.. I was attracted to this thread from the smell of Lechon y congri...

LOL

I can tell your wife is cuban Bull, but down here in the little island we go for "arros con gandules with our pork". Red beans and white rice if its chicken :)

Of course, not if you are trying to make weight :b

Hey Nelson/Josh, any plans for a PR Resnic seminar yet. I randoried with this brown belt from Domincan Republic the other day that was picking me up six ways from sunday. Then aggain he has abuout 10 times the Judo experience y do. Hes had his brow belt for so many years its beige now.

Nelson, any word on the kickboxing???

Daniel

The most succesfull Judoka living in PR that I can think of is Israel (cant remember his last name), if I'm not mistaken he won a Silver for Cuba in either Barcelona or Atlanta. He has a very funny story about his loss in the finals at those games.

But as far as I know he is not the official national team coach, but he does coach some of the players in it.

The official national team coach (I think) is Federico Lavarini(sp?). We used to work as personal trainers in the same gim. Nice guy, very good with the girls.

Who are your refering too Clown??

Other notables that I can think off in PR Judo , but none of them are anywhere near competition shape.

Otto Brito (father and son)
Luis (Bordi) Martinez (I think thats his last name)
Francisco (Paquito) Rodriquez
Sensei Hiromi Tomita
Sensei Felipe Ruiz

there are many more Judoka that I respect but I cant mention everybody.

Daniel

carlos mendez. he is from PR, or at least fight for PR, and has amazing pick-ups. he's an interesting fella too.. when he was still here in san jose i went with him as much as i could and i swear i learned more about the difference between great techniue and raw power in pick-ups from him than anybody else...

he is able to do both equally.

yea.. Israel Hernandez. the man has beautiful judo. amazing way of entering uchimata. he took bronze in atlanta.

clown.. i remember him being at the US Open 2 years ago. i ended-up playing a guy from PR to get into the bronze match. it was kinda odd, here i am with Mike Swain sitting in the chair and that guy walks on the mat with Hernandez sitting in his chair. some really great coaches behind some rather shitty players.. =)

it was a typically ugly match for me and i, for one, would have rather watched the coaches randori. =)

Of course, not if you are trying to make weight :b la verdad..Only thing remotely Caribbean I've eaten lately (losing weight) is my wife... ;-) (que Chusma si?)

I'd like to have been at Sammy Davis' bat'mitzvah.

LOL!

Yep thats the guy I'm talking about Israel Hernandez. Now you've got me doubting whether he's the coach of the whole team or not. As far as I knew he only coached a couple of the guys. Most people in the puerto rican team have their home club and coach and practice aditionaly with the national team.

You are right Josh, now that I remember he said he got the bronze. Here is the story, that was told to a group of guys from my club during an after practice beer binge.

It seems that during those games he had been creaming everybody whith his Uchimata. When he gets to the semifinal match aggainst a guy who he considered to be a third rate player he planned on doing the same. The thing is his coach warned him to use something else cause it seems this guy had a very good uchimata defence. Well acording to Israel his ego was way too big, and to put it exactly like he did " I was gonna give this guy a "PINGASO"*** like I had given everybody else and send him fliyng". Well when the fight started he went for his Uchimata , the guy just steped asside and Israel's own momentum fliped him over onto his back. SELF IPPON!!!

After the match Israel's coach went up to him and told him it was his last match and he just lost everything he ever trained for because of his pride. Dont think he ever competed aggain. And definetly has no intention of doing so now.

Funny side story, the guy he lost too went on to the final round aggainst a Brazilian, who Israel had easily beat in many ocasions. The Brazilian won the gold. Subsequently the whole Brazilian team came over to Irael and thanked him, and I think took him out drinking that night.

PS. *** I'll let another spanish speaking forum member explain what a PINGASO is.

Daniel

BTW I never saw this, but I heard it from the horses mouth.
