ATTN: DFW jr. Broadcasting Idea thread.

Jon and Kenny are both fairly good at their jobs, but there is one massive problem with them working together, they sound exactly alike. I think the best possible solution to the problem is split the broadcast team between Rogan/Anik as a combo and Goldie/KenFlo.

I have a feeling both of those combinations could be very effective. Anik's reasoned approach, and methodical play by play would work well with Joe's excitement for the sport and Goldies exuberance would work well with Kenny's intelligent and reasoned approach to his commentary. It could at the very least be worth an experiment.

Yeah, I was getting them mixed up, as well.

And Kenny wasn't helping matters by jumping in and doing the play-by-play at times. It's a bad habit that he may have picked up from listening to Rogan do it all the time.

Sounds like a good idea. Who's the "A" team? Anik/Rogan on pay per view would mean demotion for Goldie & the reverse would be true for Rogan, if goldie & kenflo were "A" team. Would love to see Pat Miletich come aboard.

Is there a problem with three commentators? If not, have Anik wet his feet by joining Goldie and Rogan on occasion. Phone Post

I like it but to me it would feel like a sad divorce between goldy and rogy Phone Post

I was thinking the same thing. Kenny and Anik both did a great job, but they sound alike.

Anik/Rogan would be the A team for sure. I think having Goldie/KenFlo call the Fuel and FX cards and have Rogan/Anik on PPV and Fox and maybe the odd FX cards in out of country markets.

I couldn't tell em apart for shit until florian would get a little technical with his talk. Phone Post

Dana is loyal to his troops.  They won't be splitting up Rogan and Golide unless its by their own request.

good call OP, but RML is right. Zuffa is huge on loyalty. Aint gonna happen.

Why not throw a third person into the mix? Someone like Rashad Evans. Phone Post

for a while I though it was just one guy

They do sound very much alike. But Rogan/Goldie arent getting split up so, next topic. Phone Post

If they're going to keep Jon and Kenny, which i think they should, they should look into adding a 3rd person to that team at least every now and then. Lets get some more fighters in there if only for commentating on a specific fight, preferably one that's in their weight class.

Would be great if they had one of the top guys at lw, a potential future opponent or even Frankie Edgar come out and comment on the Guillard/Miller fight for example.

Either that or find someone to join the team full time, someone with more energy than Jon and Kenny because that's what's missing from that team, well that and that you can't tell their voices apart during commentary.

Anik did a fantastic job. Just sayin Phone Post

Op stole my idea. Great minds think alike. ;) Phone Post

I would like to see Frank Mir calling some ufc fights at some stage. I really like his commentary and dude has heaps of knowledge. Living in Australia i didn't see much wec but what i did i really enjoyed Franks commentary Phone Post

Lol phew I wasn't the only one who noticed it. I was paying so much attention to the commentary just trying to figure out who was who. Phone Post

who was the person who kept saying "and heres some bruce buffer!" or something similar before each fight, jay glazer?
