JoeJitsuMD: It was recently brought to my attention from several of my students that you were posting comments about my coach, Joe Moreira.
You were cordially invited by one of them to come train at my gym. Then you responded with another post about "another fake Moreira Black Belt"(yes, implying that I am a fraud).
I would like to say two things;
1. I may have received my black belt in fewer years then most. What you fail to ask is how much mat time I acquired in those few years. I lived with Joe for upwards of two years. I assisted/was a dummy for almost every private lesson he taught. I trained at Joe's school every night(with the likes of respected black belts as Benneville, Tasson, Benis, Dunk, etc.), and when I wasn't there I was at Global Jiu-Jitsu, or Boran Jiu-Jitsu during the days. Everyone one of these guys and schools will vouch for me.
Please notice the difference between "Mat Time" and "years since started". Some people train for 10 years, yet only get in a consistent 2 classes a week for 5 years.
2. As for my second thing I would like to say. I am PERSONALLY extending an invitation to you, to come to my gym. I'm really tired of people calling out "frauds & fakes" without attending a single class or school, so here is your chance to prove your theories and accusations.
You my friend are more than welcome to come train with myself and my students. You know what, come in for a whole month on me.
I am in Costa Mesa, CA. If you live near and do not have a ride, I will personally pick you up. If you need a plane ticket we can still talk. If you don't want to come to my gym, I will even make the effort to come to you. If you have any questions or need directions. They are on my website, which you have already visited I'm sure.

You are misinformed. I never called you a fake or fraud. I think someone posted the link to your website and I commented that you made a fast progression. Never made any implication of you being fake, so I don't know where that came from. Perhaps some of your students are just itching to see their instructor fight someone? I dunno. Anyway I am FULLY aware of mat time vs. training years as I have trained very inconsistently over the past 15 years and am still a purple belt because of that. So what is it that you are trying to say? Are you making an internet challenge because you think I called you a fake or fraud? Um, no...so if you have another reason for being angry I would love to hear it. I hope it's not that it has been pointed out that Joe M has some shady promotions most notably guys like Hideki Frazier. That's something that everyone knows. It shouldn't be a hush hush subject. If you get angry and defensive over something that is true, it will really eat at your soul so I would encourage you from personal experience to find another outlet for that. Anyway...all the best,

Oh I'm not angry. You are actually the one who seems to have a grudge with Joe or one of his black belts. Your posts are very hostile and not written in a manner which, we here on the forum, would expect from a 15 year purple belt!

Just got your message at my gym. Thanks for the phone call. It shows that you truly care about the sport. You didn't leave a name or number for me to call you back at, and the called registered from a blocked number, so I won't be returning your call.
Now listen bro, I'm not trying to start anything hostile here. I truly respect my coach and will go to bat for him, as I believe we all would for our own coaches. I just want you to see that despite some questionable promotions in your eyes (and others), Joe Moreira black belts are legitimate black belts. Don't judge all of us based on your own opinions or opinions of others, although you are certainly entitled to them. Simply see for yourself. My friendly invitation still stands.
HuntingtonPUNK: This is not a black belt challenge. This is just a way for someone to verify their opinion(s). It's a simple "come see for yourself." There is no disrespect intended.
checkuroil: My student posted on another thread that was frozen later on, and merely stated that he thought the training I provided was on par. JoeJitsuMD later responded "another Joe Moreira black belt who started training in 2004" (this is not word for word, but similar, as the thread was frozen) This was taken by me as a slander and an insult to my school. This is how it all started. Maybe I took it a little personal, but who wouldn't?
I do agree with JoeJitsuMD on one thing. These threads never seem to stop. So as per his request, on the thread that was frozen early, I will "LET THIS THREAD DIE".
