jair did ask for someone closer to his size and weight. he had me ask both shane and todd tanaka. shane accepted at the time. i told him i would get in contact sooner to the tournament to see if they would still like to compete. making sure no one got hurt in training. sorry i didn't follow up a little sooner.
Let me know if it's a go so I can tell Shane. I did hear Todd saying that him and Shane are the only two Relson BB's that compete now here. He may have to man up or eat them words.

shane wanted me to get in contact with nalupono and see if his match was still on but i kept forgetting to come on here. well i see mike beat me to it.
it is true that i declined the offer to match up with jair in the upcoming triple crown when asked by nalupono. didn't want to compete or even have to train hard the rest of this year, after training hard for worlds i am just enjoying life =) as far as matching up with jair... he does not have enough "aura" =). next year might be a possibility. i suck at jiu-jitsu tournaments but i'll do it if that what it takes to help jiu-jitsu grow in hawaii & if jair promises not to call me up at home ha ha.
who ordered the side order of McHate =), as for what McMike said... yeah i said shane and me will be the only 2 relson hawaii black belts that will be competing but i wanted some of the others to join us. i told him that i wanted to at least compete once as a black belt & that we need to take a team up to worlds again cuz it is a good experience and fun times for the guys. i just wanted all of us higher belts to get together and train hard together like we did for the pan ams of 2003. that was one of the best memories of my jiu-jitsu career, looking up to and training along side my teachers.

just got off the phone with Romolo. he has been trying to get in contact with Jair to confirm. no luck in contacting him yet. sorry for the delay. what would be the latest that i could contact you with more info? meaning, 1 week out from the tournament? 2 weeks? i'm really sorry i can't give you an answer right now, i'm just the messenger. i'll contact you as soon as Romolo let's know anything.
Thanks for trying. I just called Romolo myself and he said that he was going to try to ask one guy that talks with Jair to see if he can get in touch with him. We'll just play it by ear for now.
