Has American culture infected Japanese MMA fans. They never used to boo fights.
None of the boos sound like Japanese people. The Japanese have a very distinctive boo when they choose to use it.
BAZINGA!
and thanks for your reply brotha. i figured you would have the best insight regarding said incident.
superCalo - mMa is a sport for the lower classes crimminals yakuza in japan, sumo is sport for the elite, so there will be alot of servents, maids , drivers, butlers etc at the event who will be predomminantly from korea and vietnam, perhaps they were the ones booing.
What about the upper class crimminal yakuza? Do they like mMa?

They did like pride, but uFc is seen as second rate in japan, unfortunatly they have not let go of the past and seen the future, it will be up to the younger generation of top ranking yakuza to make that transition.
Is that because they had stakes in pride but not in uFc?

exctly, right calo?
I think the boos and such were just edited in like the audience on tv shows like such as such Laverne and shirley or cheers . For example.
I can see the up and coming Yakuza dons calling a ruling commission meeting to decide whether they will like UFC Japan.
Low class/high class is not the point. MMA was cool in Japan. Young couples went to dates to Pride events. It's a faddish country, that time passed, and the buzz was fading even while Pride was still there. That's why the sport barely hangs on by a thread in Japan.
