billyball2, the term "Master" is a popular title used in the martial arts and other trades. In trades, such as carpentry, the term "master" is used for a worker qualified to teach apprentices and carry on the craft independently.
In the martial arts, it is used similarly, for an instructor who has "mastered" their art (hence "master") and who is qualified to teach and carry on the art independently.
In traditional martial arts, it is title used by almost every style. In modern MMA, some systems and teams use the title, such as American Top Team, Team Lloyd Irvin, amongst others... including the Freestyle Fighting Academy :)

the thing is we've seen many many many many many guys who weren't qualify to teach but carry themselves and call themselves as "master" ie. the mcdojo's
