Well that's the choke that got him kicked out of the UFC pretty much. <img src="/images/phone/apple.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>

Choke. Damn auto correct! Was sad to see him go, though he was an exciting fighter. <img src="/images/phone/apple.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>

He held it on 3 seconds after the tap including when the ref touched him.I've seen way worse in the UFC.It had more to do with him saying during the postfight interview that he did it on purpose. If he said something along the lines "I was so pumped full of adrenaline and wanted to win that fight so bad I was suprised he was tapping I didn't think I had the choke in with good technigue so I just tried to squeeze as hard as i could,I had snap to when the ref touched me i couldnt believe he was tapping to it.' or some crap like that he wouldve probably not been cut.

I remember the outcry on the UG at the time but it was the right call to fire his ass. Phone Post

No, if I recall correctly, or iirc if you will....

David Heath started it b/c he went WAY personal and wore a T-shirt bearing the recent mug shot of Renato Sorbral who had been arrested for battery and something else, and allegedly spit on a bouncer.

Shit started at the weigh ins, and Renato finished that shit like a G

Agreed. I thought Heath kind of had it coming. Also, I recall B.J. Holding the submission on Jens longer than Babalu did.

Yea this is what I remember to. And he got in shit mainly because he openly admited he did it on purpose later.

Lol at heath started it.
It is a fight with unified rules.
Babalu, who i am a fan of, deliberately held the choke to long and thus deserved to be punished.

Imo though once the AC fined him i think the ufc should have left it alone.

As it turned out babalu ended up having some pretty nice paydays in both affliction and SF so it wasnt exactly the worst thing that could have happened to him! Phone Post

Yeah, pure speculation, but I think that's what did him in the most. Had he said he waited until the ref pulled his arm b/c he wasn't sure and that it wasn't intentional, I think he may have gotten fined but perhaps still under contract.

We're saying that it got personal at the weigh ins, which was of course started by Heath. The fight was dirty, at one point Heath tried to headbutt Babalu. It was personal the whole way through. I'm not saying I condone it, but I understand it for sure.

Good point about paydays at Affliction and SF. I won't research to disprove it b/c I think you're right.
