Those standups were atrocious.
I like how this is “the guy” from RINGS and “the guy” from Pancrase and they just don’t mention it.
Bas had a weird technique, especially side kicks, but without a doubt an effective one; centered around generating lots of power.
What I find surprising on these old fights is how long they used to spend in the guard or half guard. They would just chill there. You rarely see these types of slower paced, grappling fights anymore.
Disagree… Randleman laid on Bas like a blanket. Bas may have been on the bottom for most of the fight, but at least he threw some punches.
The ufc management won that fight. Bas has two “wins” in the ufc but it’s tough calling them earned
