Bellator And Its Rating Numbers

Keeping in mind it's on MTV2 which hardly anyone watches I think the ratings aren't bad. They pulled 269,000 over this past weekend for a event that started at 6cst. Once they make the move to Spike it can only see it getting better.

Bellator averaged 242,000 viewers over the summer. Season four, which took place earlier this year, averaged 204,000 viewers.

Yuh most people dont have or don't know if they have mtv2. A move to spike could be huge and will easily double their numbers in the beginning. Phone Post

I'm curious as to how much it might go up with a better channel and support? If that card the other night was on Spike the numbers would have been 10x's as much the following week.

This seasons average is down from the Summer though so I'm not sure you have any valid point on ratings improvements. Phone Post

Mmm no they wouldn't.

And I like Bellator by the way but you're talking rubbish. Phone Post

Versus was an even more obscure channel and the WEC was pulling better numbers.

Their numbers on spike will be between the 500k to 800k range.

I like Bellator. I hope they do well.

ZuffaLogic, the WEC didn't oppose the UFC on Saturday nights, was around longer, wasn't a weekly, and didn't simulcast on different channels. That's why they pulled better numbers than Bellator.

^ There were wec shows which were counterprogrammed by spike or tuf just from scheduling conflicts.

To give you an idea of how weak the overall Bellator numbers are... just ask yourself what a UFC fight would pull on MTV2?

A UFC fight would pull a minimum of 700k viewers.  When Bellator moves to spike (in 2013) at best it will be a 500k to 800k viewer property... from what they can do with it from there is anyone's guess.

By 2013 spike will be known as the UFC rerun network.

I hope Zuffa pays you well.

MTV2 is not a hi-def channel here

I am excited for Bellato to move to Spike

axxesmerdas - Bellators ratings should solid on spike considering impact wrestling pulls 2 millions viewers every week. <img src="/images/phone/droid.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>

What does that have to do with Bellator?

is the logic that TNA is a second rate WWE and they do 2 mill on SPike so Bellator which is a second rate UFC will do good?

I dont get it.

They will surely do better then 270k, thats awful, for the biggest card of the season with the two biggest and most popular fighters Bellator has, weak.

They will do better on Spike but 500k might be pushing it.

Spike is gonna find out, yes UFC/SPike helped make each other but in reality it didnt matter what the network was, people watched cause of the sport, cause of the UFC, of the fighters, not the network.

The question is how many will stick around and watch Bellator, which isnt the UFC? Some will but I think they will find out people watched spike cause of the UFC and when thats gone alot of viewers will be gone as well.

FixedPartialArts - I hope Zuffa pays you well.

Pays him for what? Speaking the truth?

I guess he has to be a paid poster for bringing up facts, speaking the truth etc.

I guess anti Zuffa tards have to cry about something.

Bellator is that Cinderella team that everyone is pulling for Phone Post
