BJ Should Train With DUANE/ALPHA MALE

For one Duane will sharpen up his striking & break down Edgar & come up with a great gameplan, 2 there on a roll so the team morale is high, 3 Chad Mendes would be the perfect sparring/training partner for BJ. Everybody from Alpha Male has great cardio & Duane is a nice guy but I don't see him being a yes man for BJ I am sure he will push him the way he needs to be. The guys at Alpha male would gain from having BJ there as well. I can't think of a better camp for him to train at for Edgar. What do you guys think?

Agreed Phone Post 3.0

Great idea but BJ seems to enjoy his camp being very focused on him. Plus he may end up against a Team Alpha Male member. Phone Post 3.0

^ He needs to get out of Hawaii & get a new look, Mendes would be the only possible matchup. I think BJ has 2-3 big fights left in him. What he needs, Duane & the guys at Alpha would give him & for them to have a beast/legend like BJ to train with is a plus for them.

You are totally right it would be a great change for B.J.. Sadly he will probably never make the best choices for his training regimen.

Voted up. I agree 100 percent. Phone Post 3.0

BJ to AKA!

Bang is not a Yes man and would also be able to relay his message effectively. He has proven this time and time again. I really wish BJ would make a move to another camp. Or at least take his guys away from away Hawaii again. He's the greatest 155 for his time and I'd love to see him maul some folks again. Phone Post 3.0

He is at 145, want's to be a champ so it would be hard to fight against Mendes.

Agree with Flow, & true Sudo21 that might present a conflict there. I think Dana was saying BJ wanted Benson at first right? Then mentioned Edgar, I could see Penn getting the W over Edgar then going back to 155, who knows. I still think it would be his best option to train there to beat Edgar all politics aside.

Not a bad idea. Team Alpha Male has a great outlook on the fight game.

No matter what, I kind of feel like BJ should absolutely not train with anyone he's trained with before.

He just needs to retire. Phone Post

Either that or nova unoa? Seeing as how got his black belt there. So many killers in that gym, and it would def help his cardio, and his Muay Thai Phone Post 3.0

Nice idea, OP!

Duane and BJ both been in the game for long, if BJ does decide to train some over at Team Alpha, it will be 1) Greatest decision he's made in the last 4 years and 2) He will realise how much of his downfall is down to not working outside his comfort zone.

Fan of fanboys - In perfect world no better place for him than Alpha Male. Phone Post 3.0

This.

No doubt the guys at alpha could benefit from him just as much, in key areas of thier game, as Penn would from them and Bang.

Do it BJ. Phone Post

No chance guys...

He ain't leaving Hilo. Especially after being gone to tape TUF... Phone Post 3.0

Agreed.

Training with all those little fucking lawn gnomes would have him in the best cardio condition of his career. It would also prepare him for any potential wrestle-fucking. Faber and Joe-B-Wan's striking styles are similar to Edgar's in-and-out style too. Alpha Male would be a GREAT choice for BJ.

I don't think that is a concern at all.

BJ is not in this for the long haul. He's doing the same thing Couture did at the end of his career and only looking for showcase fights that he finds interesting. He's not looking to fight young, hungry no-names.
