Bodog and Parlay question

Does anybody go on there and just pick the sure things and bet some large bet to make some easy money?

I mean why not do a Rhonda, GSP, Jones parlay and throw down some cash and laugh all the way to the bank? I know the odds are low payout but if you bet $100.00 and pretty much walk away with that or a little more why not instead of hoping for a Chael Diaz pay off on a $5 wager.

Anyway I am new to this so just asking. Seems like you could just put $1000 on GSP and call it free money.

I have thought this before as well, but MMA is too unpredictable and there are just so many ways to lose. Having said that, I DO like your parlay... Whats it look like if you throw a hundo down?

On Bodog if you put $100.00 bet you only get $47.27 But still thats $50.00 in the pocket at a 99.99% sure thing. But someone with Cash and Balls could lay down $1000 and walk away with $472.73.

Hell lets take this back a step and go back to $100.00 and throw in Cormier and Bendo.

$100.00 = payout of 162.43
$1000.00 = put this in the bank. $1624.27.

Or look at it this way.

Bet $30.78 on the above parlay. Order one of the PPV's win the $50.00 payout. Pay Cable bill with winnings.

Profit.

Jack Stone, I like your way of thinking friend. You gettin down?!

Anything can happen.  Ask Matt Serra.  Look at how many sure things went to shit in the last month.  Reem, and Rashad top the list.  Lots of -400 guys went down recently.  A successful betting strategy will be one that is diverse.  All eggs in one basket will lead to you being without eggs eventually.

Yeah but Liz is not Serra, Diaz GSP will look like Diaz Bendo and anyone thinking Chael will beat JJ needs to pass the bong back to Nick.

P.S. I had Bigfoot stomping the Roidless Reem. I have the Tweet to prove it.

Anyway just thought betting the sure thing would have been better then hoping for another Serra to cash in on. Rashad/Nog was too close to be a safe bet but I'm looking at things like

Mir vs JDS. We all know what was going to happen.

When franklin was going to fight Cung le. I parlayed everything with Franklin on top. A bunch of basketball games and I Parlayed the UFC card as well. I got every parlay right up until the franklins fight. I invested almost 600 bucks in parlay that was supposed to make me a few G's once Franklin which was a lock got it done. Franklin got crushed along with my dreams and $$. Parlay can be awesome I've gotten paid before. But losing hurts man. It hurts Phone Post

There are no sure things in gambling. A couple weeks ago you might have said Overeem or Rashad should be on that parlay. Phone Post

Last time i tried to do your strategy i bet huge on a chubby russian dude that hadnt lost in his 10+ year career. Werdum made me very sad. Now i just bet on basketball, football and the occasional mma parlay and i make a significant amount as oppose to pushing all in on every mma favorite.

I bet parlays all the time, and sometimes I subscribe to this approach, to a degree...........but you must remember that you are one nasty cut above the eye from losing a substantial investment on a doctor's stoppage, or some kind of disqualification stoppage for that matter.

I remember my first lesson learned was back in like '93' when I was playing sports lotto parlays in Toronto. I also came up with this brilliant can't lose plan to go heavy on some can't miss favorites. I was betting hockey, there were some pretty bad new franchises at the time so this would be easy. I won my first two games out of three, one being the Blackhawks over Tampa Bay I think, and I don't recall the other............but it all came down to The Pittsburgh Penguins, two time Stanley Cup Champions with Jagr and Lemiuex, and all they had to do was beat the lowly Ottawa Senators who had only won 6 games out of 60 at the time. Well fuck me, Pittsburgh lost 2-1 and I can still feel the shock waves running through my body today.

The worst part is that I bet all my rent money (I was young and none too smart at the time) on this can't lose ticket, and the game wasn't televised and I had no phone (remember no internet back then), so I was running down the street to the pay phone to call a sports scores hotline for the updates. Aw man, everything about that night and the state of my life back then makes me feel sick to my stomach. I spent the next ten days turning out the lights and locking the door when I saw the landlord coming. Six months later I was sentenced to two years for robbery, lol!

Bottom line, there are no sure things in sports. Be careful what you put down, and keep it in moderation. Now I like to bet a few modest parlays with a couple comfortable, but not ridiculous favorites, and one even fight, or underdog which I feel very good about (ala. Joe Lauzon over Melvin Guillard with 3 to 1) to enhance my payback.

Betting really is a suckers game if you start looking for sure things and winning formulas. Play nice and add a little excitement to your fight nights while resisting the temptation to go bigger than you can afford.

I bet on Reem and Radhad this month. Sure things I said to the boys.

I had one guy ask if I even watched UFC. Phone Post

A place I play poker at just started sportsbooking. They opened machida at 1.88. I put 200$ on him at those odds. He is now at 1.45. I put 15$ on Carmouche for shits n giggles. If she wins, I get 93$.

My very first bookie bet ever.

Lol I called nogueira but not Bigfoot.

With bodog, can you choose method of victory?
I took Gunnar Nelson by decision, Swanson by decision and got 400 on both fights. Phone Post

This makes me sad to read.

But what about straight bets? I took my $100 Bodog sign up bonus and put it all on GSP. Not my money anyway. If I win that will be a cool $20.00 in my pocket. That will be my money.

I will re-invest this on someone like Cain in the future.

Parlay will always screw me in the end. I have learned this from Pro-Line misery. Just this weekend I came in 5 right and 1 wrong on the last game. That was it for me and now I am a 1 game shooter on Bodog.

This is a great strategy and what I am actually looking to do. I wish there was a Group on here to start a thread and help each other out and share picks.

My bankroll is for small nightly bets on NHL and then a UFC fight or two. I will fight the urge to Parlay.

Yes there is always the Werdum and Serra factor. Scary but true. And I really feel for the guy who was down to Franklin. I knew what I felt like when Le KO'ed him. I can't imagine what buddy must have felt like.

The look on his face must have been awful.

Welcome. :) Good to see someone else starting out. I just made my first bet too.

NHL mainly and only $2 a game. I took my GST check and opened a $100 bankroll. Bodog matched my $100 with a $100 of their own for signing (very nice of them) and I let it all ride on GSP.

I still have $92 left even if I lose all my games tonight but I doubt that.

Just a little fun and maybe in the long run make some extra cash.

I'll never bet more then $10 a game unless it's winnings that I can lose and stay at my $100 investment and then It will be a MMA fight for sure. Hockey is too wonky to bet big.

You should of hedged your bet. Meaning you should of bet on cung le to either cover your losses or guarantee a profit. If you had $600 invested in parlays im assuming if franklin won you wouldve won at least $1000. I wouldve bet 100-200 on cung le to basically have a free shot at $800 profit. This is one of the positives to parlays. Sometimes they give you the opportunity to guarantee yourself a profit.

funny thing is I thought about doing that. I was gonna add cung to one of my Parlay's and I told myself nah only an Idiot would do that, that is just throwing away money. I done goofed
