Bring back tournament style MMA.

All this game planning now is ruining the sport. I will very rarely agree with something Chael Sonnen says because he is trolling 99% of the time, but I think he is absolutely right that the champ has been training for 2.5 months and he should be ready to go. He should not need another four weeks to train because his opponent has changed.

I think fighters knowing their opponents too far in advance is becoming a serious detriment to the excitement of MMA. This with the influence of coaches like Greg Jackson who are all about watching an absurd amount of video on the opponent and calculating for every possible variable. Unpredictability is one of the most exciting things about MMA, and these factors are taking that away from the fans.

It would be nice to see a pool of fighters for a card, and then see the matches drawn randomly at the weigh ins or something. I would like to see fighters preparing themselves for a fight, regardless of their opponents

I do not know if this is at all feasible, but I think something similar to this would a more exciting way to deliver the product.

I don't think that possible in the states. What orgs could do is give only a 4-6 weeks notice before the fight. This way we wouldn't have certain douche bags crying over not having enough time to watch tape and strategize. Work on ur over all game and get better. That would b the only option Phone Post
