                    <p>UFC welterweight Matt &quot;The Immortal&quot; Brown spoke with <a href="http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2389796-ufc-185s-matt-brown-giving-everything-is-the-only-option" target="_blank">B/R</a>&#39;s <a href="https://twitter.com/DuaneFinleyMMA" target="_blank">Duane Finley,</a> ahead of his fight with former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks.</p>

"I just take it one day at a time, man," Brown said. "I don't put too much pressure on myself. Maybe I get a title shot with a win and maybe I don't. I have to worry about Johny first. He's a super tough guy and one of the best in the world. The only thing I'm thinking about is being completely ready so that I can perform the best I can come fight night and maybe I beat him."

Brown was scheduled to fight Tarec Saffiedine at Fight Night 60, but Saffiedine was injured. Then the UFC made a fight with a much bigger name - the "Big Rigg" Johny Hendricks

"You have to maintain the same motivation throughout," said Brown. "You can't let the opponent change the way you are motivated. You can't take anything for granted in this sport. Some guy who is not ranked you've never heard of could come in and knock you out. You have to be ready for anything at anytime from every opponent you may face. I try to stay on point all the time and always be ready.

"I really don't know what is going to happen in this fight. I never try to expect anything from any fight I'm going into because who knows what will happen? I'm going to go in there and push the fight as hard as I can, push myself as hard as I can and hopefully come out with the W."

"It's awesome to know people appreciate the way I fight, but I just try to go in there and do the best I can. It's cool anytime you hear positive things back from the fans. That's always great when they are excited to watch you fight. It's a great feeling to have."

Matt Brown fights Johny Hendricks at UFC 185 on March 14, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. And he's right - no one knows what is going to happen, which is why you have the fight.

He is such a baffling combination of fight you to the death badass, and humble/grateful. Very fascinating outlook he has, I imagine where he came from in his past has a big influence on that. He's grateful to be flying high, knows what it's like to be lower than low. Phone Post 3.0

I don't think he's that baffling if you know enough rednecks.

God damn, I hope Matt takes this!

Matt Brown is the ONLY fighter who can say something before a fight like-

"The only thing I'm thinking about is being completely ready so that I can perform the best I can come fight night and maybe I beat him."

And not only does it not waiver my confidence, it makes me more confident in him.

For most people, admitting the chance of a loss, allowing that fear to be real to you, isn't something they can handle mentally. They(fighters) need to tell themselves that they are the man to beat, their opponent doesn't deserve to share the ring with them.

But Matt Brown, he thrives off fear. He thrives off challenging himself.  I truly feel that Matt Brown *thinks he can beat Johny, but has so much respect for Johny that he legitimately has some fear.  But that's okay though, b/c Matt Brown doesn't handle fear like most people.  Most people get fear, and they run and hide to somewhere safe, where as Matt Brown gets fear, he moves towards it, throws himself in it, b/c it's like he knows the only way to overcome it is to face it.

He said he would outwrestle GSP and beat him at one point so this would be a good way to start proving it.

Also how he said in the Countdown, that he was scared of Johnny, then said it was that he was scared that Johnny was working harder than him, and how he wants to make sure he doesn't stop.  I really, really want Brown to win this fight.  I'd love to see Brown vs Rory for the title as a main event in Canada later this year or co-main in NYC

Brown is tough but he is going to get destroyed and I think he knows it.

Hendricks is the worst fight in the division for him, I just can't see how he wins.

jon  E is gonna hug and pray

if matt lands well hendricks is gonna be a wet blanket. he doesnt want to lose his position in the rankings which seems way more important to him since the condit fight then anything.

If anything can help Johny Hendricks pull the trigger with his strikes, I would think a fight against Matt Brown would be the solution. I've got Hendricks. Phone Post 3.0

couldn't believe matt is a +250 underdog.  bet 100 on him.  his words here are that of someone removing all pressure from themselves, not obsessing with the outcome but the journey.

Good bet.  Where did you make it?
