How Fight Odds Work

Unlike a spread on a football game where one team is getting a certain amount of points (ex. Saints +7), in MMA fights the line on the game is called a money line.Miesha Tate (-210)
Liz Carmouche (+175)

In this fight, Tate would be the favorite, meaning if you bet $210 on Tate and she wins, you would profit $100. If she were to lose though, you would lose the full $210.

If you were to bet on Carmouche at +175, if you bet $100 on Carmouche and she wins the fight, you will profit $175. If Carmouche were to lose the fight, you would lose your original $100 bet.

Depending on how people are betting on the fights the odds will shift from the moment they open, right up until the night of the fights.

What do you think UG? Why is Mirsad Bektic favored to lose? How do you think the most decorated wrestler in MMA Yoel Romero will do? What is the best bet above?

Would consider money on Werdum, Romero and RDA looking at those odds. Phone Post 3.0

Those lines cant be real. Anyone not picking Cerrone, Romero and Carmouche is crazy. Phone Post 3.0

Im betting in pat healy all day. Especially as a 2 to 1 underdog.

Browne at -200 is a bit too much IMO Phone Post 3.0

DanHendersonsDentures - Huge cowboy fan, but the only time I ever feel comfortable putting money on him, is when he is in interviews before the fight saying he is broke.

Broke Cowboy = Knock Out Bonus lol
I like the way you think. Phone Post 3.0

I don't see Liz losing to Tate... Phone Post 3.0

Putting a bet on Seth as we speak, don't see thiago coming back strong after that amount of ring rust. Phone Post 3.0

I favor Cerrone, Romero (though I do have a sneaky feeling Tavares might get it done, but I'm gonna stick with Yoel on this one), and Bektic as dogs.

Meisha hasnt won in a while idk who would be taking her as a 2 to1 fav Phone Post 3.0

Steepslider - I want Liz to win, cuz she's a warrior and not a bad mouthing Prima donna.

I heard one of the announcer boys (Chael or ??) say "Liz has got to get out of her camp".. as if it was serious shit. Don't know what's going on but would like to know.

She basically trains where she works and there are no high level fighters.  There are some pros/amateurs around, but no one youve heard of or big prospects.
