Bruce Buffer heading Downunder!

BRUCE BUFFER DOWN UNDER
WORLD FAMOUS RING ANNOUNCER FLIES TO MELBOURNE,
AUSTRALIA FOR MMA SHOW

World famous ring announcer, Bruce Buffer, will jet
into Melbourne to perform ring announcing duties at
the Melbourne Convention Centre on May 20.
Buffer, known as the 'Veteran Voice of the Octagon',
is a superstar in the world of combat sports and the
voice behind the global phenomenon of the UFC -
Ultimate Fighting Championship. The UFC is seen
worldwide, live on Cable and Satellite TV Pay Per View
shows throughout the year. Its popularity is huge
internationally in countries such as the USA, Brazil,
Japan and England, as is Mr. Buffer's image as the
"Voice of the Octagon" for the event.

He is a featured character, as himself and as a
fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship video
game franchise and is also the model and voice for the
boxing character Tony T. in the popular Ready 2 Rumble
Boxing Round 2 video game by Midway. Bruce Buffer
co-starred as himself with Robin Williams and Billy
Crystal on NBC's top ten TV show "FRIENDS". He has
also appeared alongside Antonio Banderas in the motion
picture "Play it to the Bone", along with appearing in
other film and TV projects.

"This adds a truly Las Vegas feel to the event," says
promoter Joe Cursio, who helped bring boxing back to
the big time in 2003 with his co-promoting of the
Kostya Tszyu - Jesse James Leija fight at Telstra
Dome. "Bruce Buffer is a class act. His voice and face
are known worldwide and having him in Melbourne for
the first time adds a real blockbuster feel to what is
already promising to be an unforgettable night.

"I have always traveled internationally whenever
possible to support and promote the great sport of
Mixed Martial Arts fighting and the UFC. I've never
been to Australia and when I was contacted to announce
their event in Melbourne, I did all I could to adjust
my work and personal schedule to do so. My birthday
is the week of the event and visiting Australia to
work and play is definitely a birthday gift for me.
So now "It's Time... To Begin... Down Under!" states
Bruce Buffer.

He will join former UFC Heavyweight and Light
Heavyweight champion Randy Couture, who will fly in in
from Oregon, USA, to be a guest ringside commentator
for the event.

Tickets for the event are available through
TicketMaster 7.
