agree that johnson doesn't deserve the fight, would like to see Ellenberger/Condit think this would be a rematch, but Jake has evolved alot since the first outing. I think this would be a better match up to watch
Well, here is how I see it, they can either throw Condit an easier fight to keep him active and still be a legit shot at GSP, or they can do the following. If you look at the rankings for the WW division, Carlos was knocking on the top 5 at number 6, now, consider that BJ stated that he was done. Since he was in the top five, you take him out of the mix and that puts Carlos at the 5 spot with Jake on his heels at number 6. Those two square off, and the winner gets GSP, I have said it before, to be the number one contender you should have to beat someone in the top five. Now with Carlos being in the top five due to BJ stepping down, I think this would be a great way to cement either Carlos or Jake's shot at the belt, considering that if GSP knocks off Diaz, well then there is no one else that we haven't seen in there against the champ.
He already beat Ellenberger,and no one wants to see him fight Fitch....I like the matchup personally.
If I'm Condit, I'm sitting this one out and just waiting for my deserved title shot. A shot at the title is too lucrative and WW contenders like Fitch and Kos are far too dangerous. Might sound chicken shit to some, but it's the smart business move.

ellenberger got screwed out of a decision win, not to mention he took the fight on short notice. i think jake would destroy condit now.
why the hell would they have him fight Kos or Fitch when they don't want to give them title fights? Yeah it would be great if Kos won and Gsp won and they had no title contender
Ellenberger or Rumble should be Condits next opponent. Also lol at Ellenberger getting screwed in the decision against Condit. He clearly lost 2 of 3 rounds vs Condit.
Exactly. Kos already lost twice to GSP, what would Condit have to gain from fighting him? Answer: Nothing.
Johnson would just try to lay on him like he did Hardy. Not a very intriguing matchup. Condit would most likely win regardless.

Ellenberger controlled 1 round and got controlled the next 2,hardly getting screwed.
Condit stepped aside to make the Diaz fight. No way should he have to fight guys as tough and with horrible style match-ups for him like Fitch or Ellenberger.
I agree AJ, or maybe Alves if he wins next week, would be good fights for Condit. These guys have styles that match-up well with him. It's the least the UFC could do after Condit gave up a title shot.
it should really be fitch but unless you pull him from the hendricks fight Anthony Johnson is the next best option.

Dana White is a punk bitch. Always said it. Horrible fucking management of fighters. I think GSP took the easy road with Diaz. Condit should wait this out. Dana needs to fuck off.
If Condit goes from losing a scheduled title fight to having to fight Rumble, that sucks for him. Rumble is a killer.
Condit is super tough and capable of beating Rumble, he has a very good bottom game and good sweeps, and if he ends up on top of Rumble he could finish him. But there's a very high chance of Condit getting hurt badly by Rumble. Condit has a great chin (only guy I've ever seen take flush shots from Ellenberger and live) but Rumble hits so hard, chin can be irrelevant.
Also with any Rumble fight there's a decent chance Rumble will have to pull out due to injury. Which would really suck for Condit.
Who did Condit beat to truly deserve a shot at the title? The title shot was handed to him because Diaz missed a presser, now all of a sudden he should be next in line? Some of you are acting like Condit was running through the division. No disrespect to Condit because I think he's legit, but fighting Rumble Johnson is a good fight for him and one that most of the fans want to see. Fighting Koschek or Fitch is a risky for Dana & Co. because what will they do if one of them wins? Put them back in the ring with GSP?
