Catch Wrestling: a study of Kazushi Sakuraba

A nice little break down of Sakuraba's grappling techniques.

From one of the best back and forth displays of grappling in an MMA match. IMO

Looks like BJJ to me.

Sakuraba officially listed his as "UWF strong referring to the stiff pro wrestling organization ... there is indeed catch wrestling in there, but also lots of sambo and judo. The video is a great example that someone with that background can still hang at the top levels, but sadly it has been used (and likely was created) to somehow fule the "bjj vs catch" war which is tired, boring and stupd (IMHO). Teh stuff on that video is in all grappling

I agree with you 5 times. It is grappling. I didn't select to post this video as a way to pump up catch. I'd rather the title simply read

Grappling: a study of Kazushi Sakuraba

Wow, why did that post so many times? Sorry! Anyway, just saying that all good grappling is good grappling

Newton vs Saku was such an awesome fight
