Chito saving it for round 10

Seems like BW fighters can’t deal with someone who can wrestle and strike. Deepest division my ass

No he wasn’t a judge for that fight. Snake is a goof

You are right, he was the screwball judge that had it 30-27 Barber over Lee. Not the screwball judge on this Chito decision.

UFC bantamweight contender Marlon Vera isn’t dwelling on the setback he suffered at UFC San Antonio on Saturday.

Vera lost via split decision to Cory Sandhagen in the UFC San Antonio headliner. The loss snapped a four-fight winning streak and puts his route to the title shot to a screeching halt.

Sandhagen had his way from the opening minutes of the fight, using his range and athleticism to frustrate Vera on the feet. After five rounds of action, Sandhagen took home the victory on all three judges’ scorecards.
“Fell short today got zero excuses just remember something I won’t stop,” Vera tweeted. “This sucks but fucks it’s life.”

Before UFC San Antonio, Vera earned recent wins over the likes of Dominick Cruz and Rob Font. His finish of Cruz at UFC San Diego last year catapulted him into the title conversation.

After an up-and-down start to his UFC tenure, Vera has emerged as a star in the bantamweight division. Some feel he has what it takes to be a future UFC champion, despite this recent setback against Sandhagen.
Vera will likely get another top contender for his next fight in the Octagon later this year. For now, he’ll look to learn from his mistakes and bounce back better than ever.

This is how Vera always fights. He starts slow looking for openings for counters and kill shots. And in the course of the fight he tries to get it. He was equally overwhelmed volume wise against Font but he had those big knockdowns to win. But if Font had Cory or Song YaDongs chin, Vera wouldve lost and people would be wondering why he didnt get out of 1st gear. Same against Cruz. Overwhelmed with volume striking. Then a singular kill shots to win a round and then one to win the fight. This is just how he fights. There is a hard ceiling to his style.

At least Chito stays active. Then you have that purple haired douche bag Omalley sitting home waiting for a unearned title shot off the most ridiculous gift decision in recent memory.

Never understood why this guy got so much attention especially considering his willingness to actually fight only 1-2 rounds.

I knew he wasn’t but was trolling. Dan should have been banned as a ref years ago… not sure why he’s still around. He could never be a judge

Thats probably why he is waiting for a title shot. He knows that he escaped with a victory that he shouldn’t have gotten and that losing another opponent in the top five might send his career back a few years.

Cory is technical, moves well, has great defense, and is durable. I felt Cory was a bad matchup for him and that’s exactly what I saw.

Chito couldn’t get going because Cory didn’t let him. Cory should be getting more respect for his performance than Chito getting excuses for him.

Cory gets credit for doing what he did, which was enough to win. Chito deserves all the shit he gets for not emptying the tank and taking risks
