Vernon White really went after it in this fight. This was the first PPV I ordered and it was a great card. Justin Eilers KO’d Mike Kyle after a nut shot, Karo vs Nick Diaz. Josh Thomson vs Yves Edwards.
Tiger gets underrated, he only came into his own after pancrase during his king of the cage run
Vernon was a hell of a lot more talented and tough despite his negative record in terms of losses to wins.
However he was on a rough skid a 4 fight losing streak prior to this followed by getting taken out quickly by Remy Bonjasky in K1 and was talking a lot of smack surprisingly on Chuck before this lol.
But Vernon did manage to give guys like Marvin Eastman, Vlad Matyushenko, David Terrel, Mike Rogers and James Lee their first losses.
Vernon has lost to stellar competition like Bas Rutten, Frank Shamrock, Lyoto Machida, Liddell, Sakuraba, Jeremy Horn, Pedro Rizzo, John Salter.
Fun brawl but man, if you don’t look at that fight and see the leaps and bounds within the sport……that was some truly ugly stuff. Terrible footwork. Not bad, terrible. Big gaps with both guys literally standing still, not creating openings. A lot of wild looping bar room brawl type shots.
Honestly it’s a little embarrassing. Those were the days with MMA fans talking shit on boxing, and the boxing people tuned in and were rightfully laughing going “THIS is the best they have?”
Vote down bro, this was a FIGHT and Vernon was a last minute replacement who had talked a lot of trash, forget about boxing no ones comparing the footwork to boxing footwork
It was a fight, just an incredibly sloppy, unskilled one.
You left out the part about raping them.

Yeah. Anyone who doesn’t respect Vernon is a know nothing bitchass mofo.

Big Lion’s Den fan here, but his fight with Terrell was total bullshit and boring.Terrell came into the fight and wore head gear and stayed turtled up for most of it.
I don’t know what the judges saw,but Vernon should have lost that fight against Vladdy.
I actually put some money on Vernon just in case. Was not meant to be though lol.
White also had a draw with Ian Freeman I believe. As I recall Ken Shamrock was supposed.to fight but was injured and White stepped up. I give him a lot of.credit for stepping up on short notice.
Yep. Ian was tough too.
I believe the singular reason freeman bear mir is because his dad was dying/dead if you’re familiar with the story. He had a level of “I do not give af” that night that mir could have broken his leg in 8 pieces and he was still going to be trying to pound on him. Overwhelmed green cocky mir who was significantly younger and more talented.
Good fight actually. Vernon was always midtier King of The Cage level talent. But props to him he fought in PrideFc I believe. At the time PrideFc was the top of the fight chain.
This is where he lost to Sakuraba at Pride 2.
Vernon is a legend and trailblazer of the sport but gets ignored cause HES BLACK?
Don’t do the race thing bro he probably got ignored cuz Chuck Liddell broke his damn eyes socket and ended his career
Infinitely. Jan is what I would consider an unexceptional champion, just a good all around solid guy who’s been putting it together well lately. And in comparison to this embarrassing slopfest, he looks like the world’s greatest technical wizard. Like seriously 3 levels above, where the Liddell-White sideshow should be the first fight of the night, a gimmick where you take 2 drunks from the local dive and let them have a brawl before you turn on the cameras for the real show, and then you put Jan in the main event and sell him as the picture of a well schooled craftsman.
But hey, he doesn’t have a silly haircut and wacky stylized shorts, so he gets to be a transitory forgettable champ while Chuck is secured in history as a legendary figure. Goes to show how many Tapout era mma fans are really just pro wrestling fanboys in disguise.

- r. I want to say it came up again during his fight with Jeremy Horn.
That was a punch first of all. And Jeremy quit in the middle of that fight. Shame he didn’t go out on his sword. They really hyped that fight and for him to just straight up no mas was pathetic.

Jeremy’s chin was too strong for his own good. He was getting fucking wallopped.
