And Dana's any different guys? Every promoter's going to spin people leaving their company however's going to make them look best.
Funny when UFC let's someone walk and Dana trashes them, it's "smart business". But Coker does it and Zuffa zombies want to hang him lol.
Stinger22 - Why would Shields take a fight with Jacare - a guy who barely anyone really knows and is super skilled with ONE fight left on his contract?
The Hendo fight made much more sense. Big named guy, who is good.
But losing to Jacare. Most casual fans would think "who the fuck is he?"
this. The people who don't comprehend this are the ones who will never make money.
Also for the record he never trashed Jake. He just said his management turned down Jacare twice and wishes Jake well.
Now go back to slurping Dana every time he trashes M-1 for "ducking" UFC.
Bubblegum - Also for the record he never trashed Jake. He just said his management turned down Jacare twice and wishes Jake well.
You've been hypnotized by Scott Cokehead. Nobody mentions management turned down a fight unless they want them to look bad.
I'm well aware it was a backhanded well wish to Jake by mentioning that.
*Expecting Fedor back by the end of the year/early next year.
*Expecting a long term relationship with M1. Negotiations going good.
So Fedor is now on a once-a-year schedule, and must be negotiated with between every single fight no matter how many are on his contract?
I used to love Strikeforce until it obviously became the Fedor show.
I thought Jacare looked fantastic when he made Lindland his bitch. He beats Sonnen too imo.
CRBMoney14 - JAcare would tap out Shields easily, yet he couldnt tap out Mayhem who Shields outgrappled for 5 rounds.
UG Logic!
don't bust the jacare fans bubble.
"Jacare would submit Shields in a blink of an eye. "
I do believe Jacare would give Shields a tough match but that comment is silly. Jacare couldn't submit Mayhem. Mayhem probably did about as well vs Jacare as he did vs Shields. I think it would be a much more closely contested battle.
Elvis
Mad Xyientist - Jacare is a nightmare matchup for Shields, not surprised he wouldn't touch that fight.
This is true but so was Hendo...though gotta say it again that Hendo did not look all there that night (just like Anderson..only Anderson won ;p).
So Coker is still pissed his champ left his organization and says Shields ducked Jacare, which probably happened for all we know.
What's the problem here other than a bunch of drama queens making a WHOLE LOTTA NOTHING out of nothing?
CRBMoney14 - JAcare would tap out Shields easily, yet he couldnt tap out Mayhem who Shields outgrappled for 5 rounds.

that was awesome vtfu!!
It would have been a lose - lose for Jake although a very good fight for the fans. The Hendo fight made much more sense at the time.
Jake will get his chance to prove what he is worth in the UFC now so it's doubtful he is avoiding top competition.
Awwww, somebody got their feewings hoit.
Jacare would be a tough matchup for Sheilds, but you dont duck someone to fight Hendo!
^^^ You read my mind. I think Shields vs Jacare would be a VERY competitive fight.
Oops, tried to quote this :

Didn't work for some reason. Anyway your comment is spot-on IMO!
I do believe Jacare would give Shields a tough match but that comment is silly. Jacare couldn't submit Mayhem.
He also couldn't submit Joey Villasenor.

No it wasn't, and I can't believe so many people agree with it.
When has Mayhem EVER been tapped out by ANYONE? He is nothing if not durable and a great defensive grappler. IIRC, Jacare didn't attempt many subs anyways, he just elected to punch from position.
Did you guys miss Shields getting his back taken, choked and saved by the bell when he was "outgrappling" (read: laying on top of) Mayhem? Jacare is a wizard on the ground, one of the best in the world, he would be a terrible matchup for Jake Shields.
