I’m really surprised I’m not seeing more people point out what really happened with the guillotine. Conor looked good early coming out with his kick heavy attack and just like Dustin said, something happened to his leg on one of Dustin’s checks.
Conor felt this and probably knew once the adrenaline wore off in between rounds things were going to be real bad. He stopped kicking and got into an exchange with Dustin that led to the clinch. At that point it’s my opinion he cashed what chips he had left in on a desperation guillotine which to his credit was tight enough it caused Dustin to have to aggressively defend it. We all know what happened from there. This isn’t to diminish Dustin, he’s the man. Just pointing out what I saw.
TL/DR
Conor jumped the guillotine because he knew his leg was fucked.
