Based on his HW run he was damn good, people forget how young to the sport he was at that time. Sure at that point the Cain JDS Werdum and Reem were kings and he might have had less of a chance at that point however his skill set as only grown which makes me think he could easily hang or beat them now.

Does Stipe hit harder than Roy? It's possible - but I doubt it.
I don't know if he can get past Werdum. That's a bad style match-up for him. Any clinching/takedowns would probably be an advantage for Werdum and he's a more versatile striker.
