Crosley Gracie?

MACAVELLI:I agree with you 100 %.The reason I'm at Ralphs is to learn BJJ,not NHB.

Can you really be a good BJJ instructor if you're not even there? Maybe that's why everyone left. They joined and were paying for Ralph Gracie but Ralph wasn't ever around..

I don't think it is really important if he is there as long as there is good training at the academy; and there are competant/qualified instructors present.

Considering how Ralph's students tend to consider him overbearing, and that there is a trend for a lot of the top guys to leave....maybe it is better that Ralph is not there regularly. The best thing for Ralph's business is that he does not interact with his clients. That is, of course, assuming the things people say about Ralph's character are true.

One thing, it does not sound like he has much of an interest to know his students if only his top students get to learn from him. So he is a good instructor when he wants to teach...and it sounds like he, generally speaking, does not want to teach.

Nonetheless, Macavelli is right. You can get some very very good BJJ training at Ralph's. That is obvious by how his guys do at tournaments.

he punched the guy with crutches on.....

NIICEE!

Angry Hick may be the best name Eva! Iron Ape is a close second tho

maybe people are leaving ralph's because he cant help them get to the next level, ie, cant get them fights, or help them train as effectively for fights as other places can.

granted crosley did fight in bushido, but he is a gracie after all, and.. maybe renzo had more of a hand in that than ralph?

maybe, when his students decide that going to someone/somewhere else is the best thing for that, ralph turns into angry brazilian and tries to get them blacklisted.

or maybe not?

crosley trained with ralph for his fight in bushido

did ralph ever use a tazer, playfully?

one time in mtn view in 1995 frank shamrock visited and rolled with ralph and things sterted escallating and all of the sudden ralph hits a leg lock so tight but frank wont tap so he gets up and leaves....well ralph hold was on so tight that when frank got home and started watching tv and reading fan mail, he realized that ralph was still attached to his leg so he had to take a bath in tomato soup just to get ralph to release the hold but atleast he didnt tap...

Huh?

Okay, back to the subject/thread.

"Godzilla, didn't you train at Ralph's? What is your impression of him? Why do so many of his top guys leave him? "

He is very good at Jiu jitsu and a good instructor
