Dan Dierdorf on MMA.

Today during the Baltimore vs. KC game Dan Dierdorf said the following regarding the sport of "ultimate fighting."

"It says a lot about us as a country that we find that entertaining. It's pretty barbaric."

Start the email assault of CBS.

I wonder what he thinks of Japan then..

Dan Dierdorf was one of the DIRTIEST players in the history of the NFL. For him to call anyone else "barbaric" shows just how much of a moron he really is.

he says that like it's a bad thing...

Maybe if he were signed to a bloated contract to announce mma, like he was for boxing, he would feel differently.

ttt 4 barbaric. Dan Dooshdorf can kiss my ass, this is the best sport EVER!!

Here's a nice little tibit under his wikipedia entry:

"In 1987, he was added to the Monday Night Football team. He was named as ABC's blow-by-blow boxing commentator in 1989, beginning with Meldrick Taylor's first defense of his championship. Dierdorf stayed at ABC for twelve seasons before a shake up after the 1998 season in which Dierdorf was deemed not worth his salary. He was immediately rehired by CBS to broadcast games for the network. As of 2006, Dierdorf is a color commentator with play-by-play announcer Greg Gumbel."

"As of 2006, Dierdorf is a color commentator with play-by-play announcer Greg Gumbel."

They both fucking suck...

I like Dierdorf and his style of football. I could give a shit less about his opinions on religion, politics, and MMA.

I love football more than the next guy , but this guy played in the league, he must have a short memory aren't these the guys who try to break each other into every Sunday, jab and poke each other in the pile. Then shove a mouth full of pills or a needle in there body for the pain.

Yes, NFL is so much more elegant and a thinking man's game, what with the Titans player stomping on the head and face of another player with his cleats.

on a side note MMA is being featured on 60 minutes tinight.
