I agree. Tom is the champ and if he has to defend the “interim” to prove it, I’m sure he will. He is the best heavyweight in the world.

Yeah… that’s exactly what the interim champion is supposed to do?? Why else even have one.
Why else have one? Historically in the UFC the interim champ does not try to defend the interim title, not very often at all.
Usually the UFC makes the interim title fight on a PPV and next the interim champ fights the official champ for the official title or the official title gets stripped off the fighter and the interim champ is promoted to official champion without fighting the last guy with that title.
Look at the UFC HW title history, many HW champs were stripped, one vacated. An interim title was not in play and not being defended.
Arlovski had a defense of the interim title vs Eilers.
Big Nog failed to defend it vs Mir.
Mir failed to defend it vs Carwin.
So thats it. Only three times has the interim title attempted to be defended in HW history while the official title was held by someone else.
The interim champ has never defended the interim belt while someone held the official title in the history of LHW, MW, WW, LW, FW or FLW.
Barao defended the interim title at BW a couple times, that happened.
Interim champs usually fight the champ who is returning, they get stripped of the interim title for some reason(Jones, Covington) or they just get made the official champ without fighting the last person to hold that designation.
So yeah, an interim title has only been attempted to be defended 5x in UFC history.
Its not common.

That would be a huge fight. Highly unlikely, but One can hope lol. 
Was Garbrandt vs Figueiredo one of the two?
Not really shocked, Dana sold the card as “not being able to believe who is on the first prelim of the fight, thats how crazy it will be.”
I dont doubt that will be true, and the card will obviously be very good compared to the normal PPV, but if the plan is to STACK the card with little people and women, I dont see it being that interesting.
Hopefully I am wrong and we see a couple insane matchups.

Ramadan is according to lunar calendar not solar calendar. When khabib competed in April Ramadan came later in the year not earlier.

That is a rumored fight like the Edwards vs Belal fight. Not a fight yet announced by UFC.
What was said on Wednesday night as he would have at least two more fight announcements for Thursday but I guess they didn’t happen.
Guess we wait and see.
Casual fans around the world will laugh at the PFLlator event announced for February, I’m not saying it won’t be a good MMA card but look what it is up against…
The “big” PFLlator card vs UFC 300, 299, 298, Joshua vs Ngannou, Fury vs Usyk etc…
There is just a lot of great stuff for fans between February, March and April in MMA and boxing plus the NCAA tourny and whatever ONE puts together and its just gonna be tough for PFLlator to grab peoples attention between Feb and April when so much bigger stuff is going down.

Nothing announced, just a rumor out there that they are doing Pitbull vs Pineda and Bader vs Ferreira among other fights on Feb 24th in Saudi Arabia.
I’m just saying, a Ryan Bader fight means nothing next to 300, 299, Fury vs Usyk, etc…
