Blaydes is fighting Pavlovich next month. The winner of that should be getting the next HW title fight but you know how things go in the UFC…
I hate seeing fighters coming off loses get title shots but thats how it goes these days.

Thats BS. It should be the winner of Blaydes vs Pavlovich. Stipe hasnt won a fight in 2 and a half years. He’s only beaten one fighter currently in the UFC and thats Andre Arlovski.
Blaydes has gone 13-3 in the UFC with eight finishes since 2016, losing only to Ngannou and Lewis.
Meanwhile Stipe has gone 7-2 in that time and is gonna get rewarded with a title shot coming off a loss while Blaydes is gonna have to fight 5-1 in the UFC Pavlovich who is 11-1 since 2016 and on a five fight win streak in the UFC with five finishes.
It gets old seeing UFC reward inactive fighters like this and the TJ title fight. Jones/Gane vs Stipe is not gonna be a bigger fight than Jones/Gane vs Blaydes or Pavlovich. Stipe never did big numbers.
Blaydes has beat JDS, Overeem and Hunt just like Stipe.
Just don’t see the logic in letting Stipe live in the title picture and get two title shots coming off loses.
I think if Stipe wins he retires and we get a Belt passed around like the current LHW Division Belt lol

Stipe lost the title to DC and gets a title shot right away.
Now Stipe is getting another title shot after losing to Ngannou and not fighting.
Just seems strange how UFC treats Stipe so favorably compared to a lot of other fighers when it comes to title shots.
Stipe’s longest win streak in the UFC is six fights…his second best win streak is three fights.
Meanwhile UFC ignores guys like Maia and does not give them a title shot at WW until they are 40 and they screw other fighters like Aldo out of their title fights after going 3-0 and give it to EPO TJ instead after one lousy split decision win.

I listened to a podcast and Stipe is a full time fireman. He took the job for the benefits. I think this is one last paycheck for him and I hope he fights Jon because Gane will damage him

Yes especially at this stage in Stipes career. He had lost a step when he fought Dc a third time and that’s been a year and a half ago.
