There was a bit of controversy in this fight when Josh Arocho put Sean Wilson in an armbar and the fight was stopped... what is your take on this ??? Did he tap....?

yeah he tapped but why did he let go before the ref peeled him off? Its not BJJ class
absolutely NO tap, and it's not the fighters call to stop a fight, that's what the ref is there for.
2ndly, his arm wasn't extended
------------
the ref made a mistake, and fighters: do NOT let go until the ref stops it. not your decision.
Didn't look like he tapped at all, and the ref didn't even stop it the fighter did...
tapped but the fight wasnt over, ref has to stop the fight
Tapped on the knee but fighter should not let go either way until ref stops it.
Although he may have been close or meant to that was not a tap. Bad stop.
Looks like he fake tapped to make the other guy loosen his sub. Got what he deserved imo.
-double-
he tapped.
I don't think he intentionally tapped. Great video Mark btw!
I think the confusion came from the fact that P-Town yelled in pain right when Arocho started to extend his hips. It happened about the exact same moment as the perceived tap. But I don't think he intended to tap as much as it was his reflexes placing his hand in the position to tap.
That made it a very difficult call. But I don't believe he ever made a conscious decision to quit.
It happened directly in front of me and the athletic commisioner who was to my left. He and the ref believed it was a tap.
DravenTyler -
but either way, I thought it was "3 taps" = a tap?
That's WWE. MMA rules say nothing about how the tap should be made.
Honestly, it looks like he intended to tap, but lost his balance. Josh felt it locked up and let go too soon after feeling the first tap. Sean probably didn't protest because he felt it was locked and maybe thought the ref stopped it. The ref didn't make any call at all so can't be included in this debate. An odd situation.
If he didn't he would have and he knew it. It was locked in.
Wow good vid and tough call. When you tap to an armbar that's exactly where you tap and the guys reaction was kinda guilty. I think he tapped and regret it and tried to stop himself. At the same time it wasn't a clear TAP TAP TAP...
Either way the ref didn't do shit so if the guy didn't think he tapped why didn't he run after the guy who let go of the hold and try to throw bombs?

An odd situation. The ref can and should be included in the debate. If he didn't see a tap but Arocho lets go, which Arocho did, the ref has to make the call whether the fight is over or not.
I think the ref heard the yell, saw Arocho stop and then waved it off. It was his judgement. Maybe it was correct, but either way, he was put in a difficult spot.
It then falls to the athletic commission to review and decide whether it was a correct call or to change the decision to a no contest.
Didn't tap, though he was caught and the fight was going to be over. Just a dumb decision of the armbaree too let go.
Not a tap was trying to get balance and touched the dude's knee. Absolutely a horrible mess. The ref never made a decision in this fight.
Looked like he was one tap into double tapping when the dude let go. Either way, that arm's snapping if he didn't let go. Bad reffing on a few levels here.
