I just watched a few of his old fights, his his ground was top notch but he looked so robotic & looked like a good striker would lite him up on the feet
You shut ur mouth u talk bout Hickson
The best striker he faced was Funaki. Take that any way you want.
He still would of taken down even the best striker back then and subbed them. Being a good striker doesn't keep you from being taken down. And back then very few "good" strikers cross trained in wrestling, with the exception of Todd Hayes. It would of been interesting to see what would of happened if Hayes didn't get injured.
Rickson never faced an elite anything in MMA...
let it go ...
dude is 50 - lol
rickson zombie stance ftw
You cannot EVER question a Gracie's record. EVER.
I've heard of looking down your nose at people, but I've never heard it applied to a fighting stance.
He did have a funny stance, but that stance only really becomes a liability if the person standing like that is trying to hit you, rather than simply take down/clinch.
He would have had alot more trouble from a guy who could hit a little bit, but resist takedowns alot.
Folks talk these days in vaccuum, back then, almost all the guys who could throw decent punches and kicks had pretty much zero take down defense and only marginally better ground defense, so the ones who could hit, were non factors.
DID RICKSON EVER FACE AN ELITE STRIKER? = NO.
IT wouldn't have mattered no one had a clue on the ground.Once the one lucky try at a punch or kick happened that would be the end. Stlnl2 is absolutely correct.By the way why do so many people hate Rickson on here? He did what he did in his time,whats the problem...of course alot of people hate Fedor now also.
^ without wishing to sound conceited; unless you knew the forum way back it's hard to really appreciate why the R word is so controversial
oh yea, Rickson ny armbar R2 2:18
Fair enough...it took me forever to figure out the KKM thing,lol.
ha! I thought about the Rickson armbar thing but do not feel I have enough posts to warrant it...I am not worthy.
