Did anyone watch Ortega take Volkanovski down and give him big problems on the ground? Islam will probably smash him in the first round. Volkanovski honestly thinks Islam can’t hold him down because the people he trains with can’t hold him down lol. He doesn’t train with anyone that a good wrestler or grappler.

I don’t think people realize what kind of grappling level these caucus mountain folk are on. Life long skill sets. And Islam and khabib by all accounts are the cream of the crop in their circle. The guy that’s been getting hammered by Islam for years that we haven’t heard of yet could make volk squeal on the mat. And that guys little brother. Besides the one loss Islam had getting clipped the dude has displayed very sound standup and he does damage. Idk where this illusion comes from that he has to take people down or he’s fucked. He brutalized Charles on the feet while looking immovable. What’s volk gonna look like in there with him?

I think Islam will finish Volk. Volk would have to stick & move the whole fight & he won’t be able to at the heavier weight for 5 rounds vs a guy like Islam. Once Islam gets him down he’s going to eventually submit him. Everyone will talk like the fight was a big mismatch after & they knew Volk didn’t have a chance.

Islam subbing Oliviera was impressive but you have to keep in mind Oliviera has been subbed multiple times before, by Pettis, Lamas and others. I favor Islam but I dont see him getting the finish. It could go like his fight with Tsarukyen.
Islam gets the early finish, or gets the first three rounds, gasses out and loses the last two.
Volk has no chance for a sub & can only win a decision. Look at those stubby little arms & legs at that weight. I’d bet the house on Islam for this one. Volk’s first two wins over Max were questionable at best & almost got subbed by Ortega. It’s going to be lopsided.

It’s tough to say how well he can defend the wrestling at 155, Islams been koed by an unranked fighter, Volk can catch him possibly, Id bet on him
well that was rookie mistake, but against Oliveira, Islam showed well kinda terrible striking, like hands goes into all directions xD no feet placement, just windmills, but lol he tkoed Oliveira after flying knee

I don’t think you understand how bad of a decision that was for Charles to throw that knee. He’s walking straight forward into punching range with 0 head movement, I don’t think Islam will be able to hang with Volk on the feat
