The whole thing that MMA commentary so great was that the commentary teams were so excited about the sport. It was such a breath of fresh air to the uppity “classy” boxing commentary.
Cruz is like listening to NyQuil, if anyone disagrees with him he’lol stop calling a fight to explain why he’s right. He also doesn’t play well with others. Many moons ago he went after Florian during his post fight because Florian quoted another journalist.
Not a huge Cruz fan.

Non-factor. This isn’t the 1950’s and not everyone needs to be the straight up and down play by play robot when doing commentary. Cormier brings some desperately needed enthusiasm and personality to the affair, because otherwise their presentation is bland and boring as fuck on its own.

Cormier, aside from Cruz criticisms, doesn’t have the voice for the job. Cruz and Anik has a clear voice. DC sounds like he has cottonballs stuck up his nose so I understand why Cruz, like myself, feel the only way to get rid of him is to mute him.
DC just seems to want a good time whereas Cruz, Bisping, Felder etc want a media career.
Cruz spot on with his criticism but maybe do it privately rather than ambush your colleague in public.

You mean unlike doing a 12 minute video dedicated to that and only that and how slighted you feel when you were supposed to interview the fighter about his upcoming fight? Yup, I can see that.
