A welterweight bout has been added to the stacked UFC 187 card, as Dong Hyun Kim looks to get back into the win column against Josh Burkman.
UFC officials announced the matchup on Monday.
Kim (19-3-1, 1 NC) is coming off a first-round knockout loss to top welterweight Tyron Woodley at the latest Macau show, in August. Prior to that, ‘Stun Gun’ picked up a knockout of his own against John Hathaway, in the main event of UFC Fight Night: Kim vs. Hathaway, early last year.
Burkman (27-11) is also in need of a win here, coming off a decision loss to top welterweight Hector Lombard in January at UFC 182. He was re-signed to the UFC after an impressive run in WSOF.
This bout is set for the main card.
UFC 187 takes place live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 23. In the main event, UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones takes on Anthony Johnson. Also, middleweight titleholder Chris Weidman defends his belt against Vitor Belfort.
The cynic in me wonders if they already know that another fight on this card is dropping, because it was already pretty stacked before this.

Broken Dong come harder than ever for Birdman.
What a tough struggle. Josh is very hard to beat and he's faced all the big guys, while Dong is very slippery in his own right.
In the end, Kim will prove to be "The People's Dong".
